Advancing Research Partnerships between PCU and UPLB

Today, representatives from Philippine Christian University (PCU) and the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) met to discuss the process and requirements for formalizing a partnership between the two institutions, paving the way for future collaborations in research, innovation, and academic exchange.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Jenielyn Padrones, Director of UPLB OIDHE, together with OIDHE Program Coordinators, Asst. Prof. Ramoncito Cambel (Institute of Statistics), Mr. Abet Mercado, and Ms. Mary Joy Andal.

Representing PCU – Institute for Research, Innovation, and Sustainability (IRIS) were Director Junnell E. Guia; Associate Director Dr. Raquel Rosano; Ethics Committee Chair Dr. Juliet Bucoy; Ms. Adel Adlawan; and Mr. Teodoro Mendoza Jr., who joined via Zoom.

This meeting marks an important step towards formalizing a collaborative partnership between UPLB and PCU, aimed at strengthening research, academic cooperation, and institutional development.

📢 Proposal & Research Writing Workshop | February 13, 2026

As part of the series of research capacity-building workshops organized by the Department of Science and Technology – National Research Council of the Philippines and Philippine Christian University through the Institute for Research, Innovation, and Sustainability, the Proposal and Research Writing Workshop was successfully held today, February 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 NN at the 7th Floor, Science and Technology Building, PCU Manila.

The workshop featured Dr. Angelo Dela Cruz, PCU–NRCP RD Lead, as a resource speaker, who shared practical insights on developing competitive research proposals, strengthening methodological rigor, and aligning research projects with external funding priorities.

The activity was attended by selected college research coordinators and faculty researchers, reflecting PCU’s continuing commitment to strengthening its research culture and expanding opportunities for externally funded research.

The program concluded with closing remarks delivered by Dr. Mario Mirando II, VP for ICT, who emphasized the importance of sustained research engagement, collaboration, and translating research initiatives into impactful and fundable projects.
