Sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika ngayong Agosto, halina't samahan ninyo kami sa isang makabuluhang talakayan hinggil sa wika, pananaliksik, at makabagong teknolohiya na magbubukas ng mga bagong perspektiba sa paggamit ng AI sa pananaliksik sa wikang Filipino.

UST TO SHIFT TO EVM, REMOTE WORK FOR 2026 BAR EXAMS

BREAKING: The University will shift to Enriched Virtual Mode of Instruction (EVM) and remote work on Sept. 9 as UST serves as a local testing center for the 2026 Bar Examinations.

Affected academic units, including the Senior High School, Junior High School, College of Commerce and Business Administration, Faculty of Arts and Letters, and student organizations based at the Tan Yan Kee Student Center, are advised to shift to EVM or consider using available rooms on Sept. 2-5, 7-12 and 14-15 as their facilities will be used for Bar exam preparations.

The middle section of the campus, including the testing areas, Tan Yan Kee Student Center, UST Main Building, Miguel de Benavides Library and Health Service Building, will be declared a controlled area on Sept. 6, 9 and 13, the actual Bar examination days.

Only the UST Hospital, Carpark, Institute of Physical Education and Athletics, Santísimo Rosario Parish, Hotel 1611 and Domus Mariae will be allowed to operate on the actual Bar examination days.

FEATURE| LYCEUM OF APARRI PILOTS ITS CATECHETICAL MISSION TO AECS

Faithful to Christ’s call to “Go to the world and proclaim the Gospel,” sixteen (16) student-catechists from Lyceum of Aparri composed of delegates from the College of Liberal Arts and College of Teacher Education, embark on an evangelical mission by spearheading catechetical sessions with elementary students at Aparri East Central School (AECS).

The delegation of students is composed of eleven (11) seminarians from the Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary who are bona fide Philosophy undergraduates from the AB Department and five (5) student-teachers who are in practicum from the College of Teacher Education. Prior to this, the delegates obtained their Certificate on Religious Education from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) through series of training-seminars. The formative sessions offered by the Pontifical University prepared and enabled the student-catechists to preach basic yet core teachings of the Catholic Faith.

In the catechetical sessions at AECS, basic tenets of Christian faith were tackled, introducing the children to the depths and richness of Catholic posterity. The first session became lively through series of activities prepared for them, following the lectures the student-catechists delivered. This manifested through active class participation, recitative engagement and the multitude questions the students raised following the discussion.

This pilot activity is an initiative of Lyceum of Aparri, Archdiocese of Tuguegarao’s Catechetical Hub, through its Christian Formation Office (CFO) and Community Engagement and Development Office (CEDO), in partnership with Saint Peter Telmo Parish of Aparri, and is geared on forming young Aparrianos, preparing them for future missions, honing them in faith to Christ and patterning their way of life according to the precepts of the Catholic Church. The same evangelical program for other partner-schools within Aparri’s vicinity is underway.
