From providing immediate relief assistance, blankets, meal provisions, hygiene kits, and medical necessities, to coordinating response efforts, assisting those stranded, delivering essential items, and helping ensure the safety and movement of members of our community, every contribution made a meaningful difference.

Beyond the resources and services provided, we are deeply grateful for the time, compassion, dedication, and willingness to serve that each of you shared during a time of uncertainty and need. Your collective efforts reminded us that, even in the most challenging circumstances, the strength of the Escolarian community lies in our commitment to look after one another.

🚨 Α𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐚𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐦, 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 Η𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚. 🚨

With the continuous heavy rains in recent days, flooding may occur in some areas. This also increases the risk of leptospirosis—a bacterial infection that can be acquired through water or mud contaminated with the urine of infected animals, especially rats.

Floodwater can carry bacteria that cause leptospirosis. During the rainy season, protect yourself by:
• Avoiding floodwater when possible
• Wearing boots and gloves
• Keeping wounds covered
• Washing exposed skin with soap and water

Know the symptoms and learn how to prevent infection. Stay alert, stay safe, and never ignore the warning signs.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬: Due to the threat of heavy rains brought about by the continuing Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the anticipated weather conditions for the rest of the week, classes in all CEU campuses will shift to online mode on Wednesday and Thursday, August 19 and 20, 2026.

Everyone is advised to remain vigilant, monitor weather updates, and take the necessary precautions, especially when traveling or moving through areas affected by heavy rains and flooding.

𝗨𝗦𝗖 𝗦𝗢𝗦: 𝗟𝗔𝗛 𝗦𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗥 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗠 𝗔𝗦 𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗘𝗩𝗔𝗖𝗨𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗔

The University Student Council Manila, through a collective effort with the Community Outreach Movement Pro-Active Student Services (COMPASS), Red Cross Youth (RCY), administrative councils, school deans, CEU personnel, and concerned members of the community, continues to provide assistance to students, teaching personnel, and non-teaching personnel affected by the ongoing flooding.

Through these collaborative efforts, essential provisions, including food, blankets, and first-aid assistance, are being made available to those in need. At present, the LAH Seminar Room is being utilized as a temporary evacuation area for those who are unable to safely leave the university due to the prevailing conditions.

The University Student Council, our fellow Escolarian leaders, and the CEU community remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting one another throughout this ongoing situation.

𝗪𝗔𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗚 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗢𝗞: In view of the continuing rainfall and flooding affecting several areas of Metro Manila and Bulacan, and in consideration of the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and employees, all classes and work in all CEU campuses are suspended tomorrow, August 18, 2026.

The suspension will also provide the University with sufficient time to clean, sanitize, inspect, and restore our school premises, particularly the areas affected by floodwaters that entered the campuses.

Students, faculty, and employees are advised to remain safe, avoid flooded areas, and monitor official University announcements for further updates.

The University Student Council–Manila has formally petitioned for the suspension of onsite and online classes on August 18, 2026, in light of the severe flooding, continuous heavy rainfall, and prevailing red rainfall warning affecting our communities.

As the Escolarian community faces challenging conditions, we believe that safety must come first. Suspending classes will give affected students, faculty, and staff the time they need to ensure their safety, attend to their families and homes, and recover from the effects of the flooding.

The USC remains committed to standing with every Escolarian and advocating for their safety, welfare, and well-being.

𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬: Due to inclement weather brought about by the southwest monsoon (Habagat), Manila has suspended face-to-face classes and recommended the implementation of Alternative Modes of Delivery (AMD) in all levels for afternoon classes today.

In view of this, all onsite classes at Centro Escolar University Manila is suspended by 12 NN and will shift to online mode starting 1 PM today, August 17, 2026.

Internships and OTs will continue as determined by the host institutions.

Campus Mail aims to facilitate the timely dissemination of 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, and other relevant campus-related information.
