🎤 OUR STORY, OUR LESSONS, OUR FUTURE
— Christopher, Founder & CEO, Kapwa Lingo Inc.
To every teacher, future educator, aspiring learner, and everyone who believes in what we are building:
I want to be completely open and honest about where I started, what I learned the hard way, and exactly where we are heading.
When I first created Kapwa Lingo, my vision was clear: to give hardworking OFWs our modern‑day heroes a fresh start, dignified work, and a meaningful career right here in the Philippines.
From day one, I tried hiring OFWs directly. I trusted them, I believed in their experience abroad, and I wanted to be the first to give them that opportunity. I hired two OFWs immediately, hoping they would grow alongside me and help build this dream.
But honestly… it did not work out.
Even though they knew the language and had experience, we faced major gaps in alignment, professionalism, and daily work ethic. They did not follow instructions or take their responsibilities seriously. In the end, I had no choice but to let them go.
That was painful, but it taught me the most valuable lesson of all:
✅ Knowing a language is NOT enough.
✅ Good intentions are NOT enough.
✅ Skills can be taught — but attitude, discipline, and professionalism are what truly make a great teacher.
That experience shaped everything about how Kapwa Lingo operates today and exactly how we will grow moving forward.
🟢 PHASE 1 — BUILD A STRONG FOUNDATION (NOW – NEXT 2–3 MONTHS)
For now, we focus only on MANDARIN.
We hire only experienced, qualified, professional Mandarin teachers — people who already bring the right skills, discipline, and attitude.
We pay ₱400 per hour — which is double the industry standard.
Maximum 5 students only per class. No crowded sessions, no rushing; every student gets real attention and correction.
We ask for resumes and short speaking videos — not to be difficult, but because I will never again lower my standards or compromise on quality.
We build strong, and we build right, so we never disappoint our students or our team.
🟡 PHASE 2 — GROW & EXPAND (MONTHS 3–6)
Here is my promise — the very same promise I started with: I have not forgotten my mission to help OFWs.
Once our company is stable, fully running, and proven successful, we will launch our official Kapwa Lingo Teacher Training Program.
This time, we will do it the right way:
We will carefully select, train, and mentor hardworking former and returning OFWs — plus anyone serious about building a career.
We will teach you everything: Mandarin mastery, teaching skills, professionalism, and the work ethic needed to succeed.
I still want to lift our kababayans up, but this time, we will prepare you fully so you thrive, not just try.
And as we grow, we will begin expanding beyond Mandarin. We will gradually introduce English, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, and many more languages — opening even more career opportunities for teachers and learners alike.
🔵 PHASE 3 — SCALE & REWARD YOUR GROWTH (MONTHS 6 AND ONWARD)
As we expand, your growth and income grow right along with you. We have established a clear Pay‑Scaling & Career Path System:
Table
Role / Level Rate per Hour
🟢 Entry / Trained Teacher ₱400 – ₱450
🟡 Experienced / Certified Teacher ₱450 – ₱500
🔵 Senior Teacher / Mentor / Trainer ₱550 – ₱600+
✅ Plus: Performance bonuses, long‑term benefits, and leadership opportunities.
We never cap your growth. The better your attitude, the harder you work, and the more you improve — the higher you rise and the more you earn.
🎯 THIS IS OUR TRUE STORY — NO HIDING, NO EXCUSES
I tried. I hoped. I learned. I adjusted. I never gave up on my mission — I simply learned to do it the right way so it truly lasts.
Kapwa Lingo starts with Mandarin today, but we are building to become a full‑service language institution tomorrow — creating careers, changing lives, and raising standards across the whole industry.
We are proof that you can pay teachers fairly, teach with absolute quality, train our people properly, and give OFWs a real, sustainable future — all at the same time.
Thank you for trusting me, for walking this journey, and for being part of something built from real experience, hard lessons, and a heart to do good.
Let’s build greatness together.
