The University of the East - Library and Information Science Alumni Association, Inc. deeply mourns the passing of our dearly beloved professor, Dr. Juan “Buen” C. Buenrostro, Jr. More than an educator, Dr. Buen was a mentor and inspiration to countless LIS students of UE, igniting in them a genuine love for the profession that will continue through generations.

The photo used in this post was captured at the LBWR of the UE Library, POD-CIT Building, the room that shaped the minds of his beloved UE students. More than the lessons, Dr. Buen shared stories that brought wisdom, laughter, and life into every class– stories his students will forever carry with them.

The College of Arts and Sciences Manila prepares for two meaningful events this April 2026.

On April 13, the opening of 𝗔𝗸𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝘂𝗖𝗔𝗦 marks the start of a shared initiative that celebrates generosity, honesty, and learning through donated books and printed materials for CASmates.

On April 14, 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 honors outstanding students, leaders, organizations, and members of the CAS community who have demonstrated excellence, service, and dedication throughout the academic year.

As we near the end of this school year, 2025-2026, these celebrations remind us of the shared values and achievements that define the CAS community. Join us, CASmates, as we close the year with learning, recognition, and pride.

May this time of reflection renew our hope, reminding us that every challenge faced has shaped us into who we are today.

Online Oathtaking of the New Librarians

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) informs the new Librarians that the conduct of the online special oathtaking will be on January 27, 2025, at 10:00 A.M., which will be spearheaded by PRC-Iloilo via Microsoft Teams.

Inductees shall wear formal or business attire and use a white backdrop (white physical or virtual background) throughout the oathtaking ceremony.

Please secure an online appointment schedule at http://online.prc.gov.ph and select “e-OATH” as transaction. The online registration will close five (5) calendar days before the virtual oathtaking day. Inductees are required to print the "OATH OF PROFESSIONAL" form downloadable from the PRC official website under PRC Online Services.

IN PHOTOS | UE-Mnl CAS hosts testimonial dinner for BLEPP, LLE '24 passers

To give recognition to the Warrior passers in the recently held 2024 Board Licensure Exam for Psychometricians and Psychologists (BLEPP) and Librarian Licensure Examination (LLE), the University of the East (UE)-Manila College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) organized a testimonial dinner on October 17.

Held in Vikings Luxury Buffet at the Mall of Asia Seaside, UE President and Chief Academic Officer Zosimo Battad delivered his message to the passers emphasizing that character is the greatest teller of success.

Louis Andrei Bautista, one of the BLEPP passers from UE-Caloocan also shared an important lesson he learned through a speech.

"Pwedeng matakot, okay lang matakot. Pero ito lang ang masasabi ko: do take risks," the newly-registered psychometrician stressed.

UE-Caloocan Chancellor Victor Macam Jr., UE-Manila CAS Dean Gary Dy, UE-Caloocan CAS Dean Michelle Concepcion, College of Dentistry (CDent) Dean Iluminada Viloria, College of Computer Studies and Systems (CCSS) Dean Ma. Teresa Borebor, along with UE office directors were also present in the banquet.

To recall, a total of 66 Warrior examinees from both UE-Manila and Caloocan passed the August BLEPP, while UE-Manila produced two new licensed librarians.
