Ngayong National Heroes Day, inaalala natin ang tapang, sakripisyo, at pagmamahal sa bayan ng mga bayaning Pilipino na kinakatawan sa ating larawan.

Ang kanilang mga mukha ay sumasagisag sa mga Pilipinong nangarap, nanindigan, at nagsakripisyo para sa kalayaan at kinabukasan ng bansa. Ang kanilang kabayanihan ay hindi lamang bahagi ng kasaysayan, ito ay patuloy na nabubuhay sa mga Pilipinong naglilingkod sa bayan sa kasalukuyan.

At sa bawat Pilipinong nagmamahal at naglilingkod sa bayan, ang kabayanihan ay patuloy na nabubuhay.

Mabuhay ang mga bayaning Pilipino!

𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗸-𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘄 𝘀𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗮𝗻 | 𝗔𝗴𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟳, 𝟭𝟵𝟯𝟰

Ang paglikha ng lupon na ito ay naging mahalagang hakbang upang matiyak ang kakayahan, integridad, at kalayaan ng hudikatura sa Pilipinas. Pangunahing tungkulin nito ang magrekomenda ng mga taong itatalaga sa hudikatura batay sa kanilang kwalipikasyon at merito.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang lupon na ito ay kilala bilang Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) at nasa ilalim ng pangangasiwa ng Korte Suprema. Binubuo ang JBC ng Chief Justice bilang ex-officio Chairman, Kalihim ng Katarungan, mga kinatawan mula sa dalawang kapulungan ng Kongreso, Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), isang propesor ng batas, isang retiradong mahistrado ng Korte Suprema, at isang kinatawan mula sa pribadong sektor.

Patuloy na mahalaga ang papel ng JBC sa pagpapanatili ng kalayaan ng hudikatura sa pamamagitan ng pagrerekomenda ng mga appointee sa Pangulo batay sa kakayahan, integridad, katapatan, at pagiging malaya. Mula sa listahan ng hindi bababa sa tatlong nominado para sa bawat bakante, pipili ang Pangulo ng mga magiging Mahistrado, Hukom, Ombudsman, o Deputy Ombudsman.

Ang pagtatatag ng advisory judicial council noong 1934 ay naglatag ng pundasyon para sa mas malinaw at batay sa merito na proseso ng paghirang sa hudikatura, na nananatiling mahalaga sa sistemang hudisyal ng Pilipinas hanggang sa kasalukuyan.

𝗠𝗴𝗮 𝗞𝗮𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻 | 𝗔𝗴𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟲

Ang pinakamataas na puno sa mundo ay isang coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) na pinangalanang Hyperion, mula sa isang tauhan sa mitolohiyang Griyego. Ang puno ay may taas na 115.72 metro (379.7 talampakan)!

Ang napakalaking punong ito ay natuklasan lamang noong Agosto 2006 sa isang liblib na bahagi ng Redwood National Park, California, nina Chris Atkins at Michael Taylor, na kapwa mga naturalista.
