: Upon recommendation of the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (MCDRRMD), I am ordering the suspension of all classes in all levels in public and private schools on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, due to inclement weather brought about by the enhanced southwest monsoon (habagat).

According to the MCDRRMD, consistent weather models indicate moderate to heavy, at times intense rainfall expected throughout the day.

Schools are advised to shift to ADM or Alternative Delivery Mode.

In light of the recently issued Memorandum Circular No. 114 issued by the Office of the President and Joint Memorandum OVPAA-OVPA 2026-01, the University of the Philippines Manila adopts a 4-day compressed work week to conserve energy.
