Upon recommendation of the Manila City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (MCDRRMD), I am ordering the suspension of face-to-face classes for Kinder to Senior High School (SHS) in public and private schools on Friday, 10 July 2026, due to moderate to heavy rainfall expected to persist today.

The MCDRRMO reported moderate to heavy rainfall of 50 to 100 millimeters, with conditions expected to persist throughout the day.

Schools are advised to shift to ADM or Alternative Delivery Mode.

Schools are meant to be places where children discover their dreams, build friendships, and prepare for the future. Parents send their children to school each day with the expectation that they will return home safe. Yet for the families of three students in Tacloban City, that expectation was shattered by a tragic school shooting that claimed young lives and left an entire community grieving.
