The heavy downpours, flooded streets, and disruption over the past few days have tested so many of our homes and communities. It is completely valid to feel tired, anxious, or overwhelmed right now.

But if there is one thing that never fails to shine through during times like this, it is the quiet strength of our people—the neighbors checking in on each other, the frontliners braving the weather, and the parents doing everything to keep their children safe and warm.

No storm lasts forever, and better, brighter days are ahead. Praying for safety, swift relief, and warmth for every Filipino household today. 🤍

Lord, amid the heavy rains and flooding brought by the Habagat, we place our nation and families into Your hands.

We pray especially for those who are already affected—families displaced from their homes, communities facing floodwaters, and those awaiting rescue and relief. Grant them swift help, physical warmth, and peace of heart.

Surround every home and evacuation center with Your protection, and bless the hands of our first responders and rescuers. Amen.

Anong Hindi Nagdudulot ng ADHD?

Maraming magulang ang nagtatanong nito.

At minsan, sinisisi pa nila ang sarili nila.

“Kasalanan ko ba?”
“Dahil ba sa pagpapalaki ko?”
“Dahil ba sa sobrang pagmamahal?”
“Dahil ba sa kulang na disiplina?”

Based on current research, ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that is strongly influenced by genetics and brain development.

Now, can certain things make ADHD symptoms worse?

Yes.

Lack of sleep, excessive screen time, stress, poor routines, at ibang environmental factors can affect attention, behavior, and self-regulation.

please be kind to yourself.

Instead of asking:

“Kasalanan ko ba ito?”

Try asking:

Because that question leads to hope, action, and progress.

And that is where real change begins.

"Kayam deta!" 🌟

Alam mo ba?

Long before modern toys, traditional games helped children build essential developmental skills! Piko improves balance, spatial awareness, and gross motor planning, while Sungka strengthens early math concepts, fine motor precision, and turn-taking.

At SMLC, we believe that learning happens best through playful, meaningful engagement. Integrating traditional play into your child's routine is a wonderful way to honor our culture while targeting key developmental milestones!

What was your favorite game as a child?

In every step and every milestone we guide our children through, love is our most powerful language. 🤍

As we begin this new month, we are reminded that true care comes from a heart that loves unconditionally. On busy days filled with full schedules and daily routines, may love remain the guiding force behind every word, action, and quiet moment of patience.

What is one simple act of love you are sharing with your family today?

Makakagraduate Ba Ang Batang May Special Needs?

Because every parent wants the best for their child.

The good news?

Yes, it is possible for individuals with special needs to graduate.

May mga taong may autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, at iba pang developmental differences na nakapagtapos ng high school, college, master’s degree, at mayroon pang naging doctors, engineers, teachers, business owners, at professionals.

But here’s the truth:

Because every child is different.

Depende ito sa kanilang strengths, challenges, support system, intervention, opportunities, at effort over time.

Because staying too long in the future creates anxiety.

Pero working on today creates progress.

Ask yourself:

At tandaan natin…

Because your child already has value.

Right now.

And if there is one goal that I hope every parent focuses on…

it is independence.

Because whether your child becomes a doctor, entrepreneur, artist, employee, or something else—

the ability to take care of themselves, communicate their needs, make decisions, and live with dignity will always matter.

One step at a time.

One skill at a time.

One day at a time.
