The Parents’ Orientation for new and returning parents and guardians was successfully conducted on June 11, 2026, at St. Rose of Lima Hall. The program opened with a prayer, the Philippine National Anthem, and a welcome message from our Directress/Principal Sr. Rosario G. Diasnes, O.P., who emphasized the importance of a strong partnership between the school and families in promoting academic excellence and Dominican values.

Parents were introduced to the school personnel through an audio-visual presentation and were informed about various school programs and initiatives, including the Aralinks Collaborative Learning Environment, ACE (Aralinks Coding Education), OrangeApps, TechnoKids, and the Active Reading Buddy (ARB) program. Presentations were also given on the DSMPAI, general school policies, guidance services, student development programs, campus ministry and outreach activities, curriculum and academic policies, and discipline regulations.

The orientation concluded with an open forum, allowing parents to raise questions and concerns, which were addressed by the school administrators. The active participation of parents made the event a success and reaffirmed the shared commitment of Dominican School Manila and its families to provide quality Catholic education and holistic formation for all learners throughout School Year 2026–2027.

Our dear parents, please be reminded of our Parents’ Orientation for the Academic Year 2026–2027, which will be held tomorrow, June 11, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the St. Rose of Lima Hall.

We encourage you to take this opportunity to learn more about the school's plans, programs, and services designed to support the holistic growth and success of our learners. The orientation will also provide important information regarding school policies and guidelines across the different areas of school life.

Your presence and active participation are vital in strengthening the partnership between the school and the home as we work together to provide the best educational experience for our students.

The Opening of the School Year 2026–2027 officially commenced on June 8, 2026, marking the beginning of another meaningful journey of learning, faith, and growth for the Dominican School Manila community.

The first day of classes began with a solemn Morning Assembly, where students, faculty, and staff gathered in unity to offer their morning prayers, sing the Philippine National Anthem, recite the Patriotic Oath, and reaffirm the school's Mission and Vision as well as the TORCH Values that guide every Dominican in thought and action.

A highlight of the day's celebration was the Mass of the Holy Spirit, presided over by our Mass celebrant, Rev. Fr. Arvin Pangan, O.P. In his homily, Fr. Arvin reminded everyone of the importance of placing God at the center of all endeavors as we embark on a new academic year. The Eucharistic celebration became even more significant as he conducted the blessing of the classrooms, offices and students, invoking God's guidance, protection, wisdom and abundant grace upon every learner, teacher and member of the Dominican community. This sacred tradition symbolized our commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the spiritual formation of our students.

Following the Holy Mass, a short Welcome Program was held. Our Directress/Principal, Sr. Rosario G. Diasnes, O.P., officially welcomed all Dominicans to School Year 2026–2027 and delivered an inspiring message that encouraged everyone to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the new school year with faith, perseverance and a commitment to excellence.

The celebration continued with a lively Zumba dance activity that energized the participants, followed by the presentation of the school's dedicated personnel and captivating performances by our talented students, showcasing the vibrant spirit and diverse gifts of the Dominican family.

As we begin this new chapter, may the experiences of this memorable opening day inspire us to live out our Dominican identity with passion and purpose. Guided by God's providence and strengthened by our shared values, let us journey together toward a school year filled with learning, service, compassion, and excellence.

Dominican School Manila proudly congratulates our Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners who successfully passed the 2025 Accreditation and Equivalency (A&E) Test for the Junior High School Level, administered by the Department of Education through its Bureau of Education Assessment.

We commend the outstanding achievement of Cassandra San Juan, Parsun Laman and Sealtiel Dennise Tagubase, whose perseverance, dedication and commitment to learning have led them to this significant milestone. Their success reflects not only their hard work and determination but also the transformative power of education in opening doors to greater opportunities and brighter futures.

DSM likewise extends its heartfelt appreciation to our volunteer ALS teachers for their selfless service, dedication and unwavering commitment to guiding and mentoring our learners throughout their educational journey. On June 2, 2026, the faculty participated in a hands-on training workshop on Maximizing the Use of the SCUOLA Interactive Board, facilitated by Ms. Nelissa Marcaida. The training aimed to empower teachers to effectively integrate interactive technology into their instructional practices and transform traditional classrooms into dynamic, engaging and student-centered learning environments through SCUOLA’s innovative educational technology.

During the session, participants explored the various features and functionalities of the SCUOLA Interactive Board, including interactive lesson delivery, multimedia integration, collaborative learning tools, real-time annotation, and digital classroom management strategies. Teachers were provided with practical demonstrations and guided activities that enabled them to develop the skills and confidence needed to incorporate technology-enhanced learning experiences into their daily instruction.

The training was highly beneficial in strengthening teachers’ digital competencies and equipping them with innovative tools to deliver more effective, engaging, and future-ready instruction.

A seminar on Integrating Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) in the Classroom was conducted on June 1, 2026, in support of the Homeroom Guidance Program. The session was facilitated by Dr. Joyce Orillosa, who provided meaningful insights on the vital role of SEL in nurturing well-rounded, resilient, and values-driven learners.

Dr. Orillosa emphasized the importance of intentionally embedding social and emotional competencies into daily classroom practices to strengthen students’ self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. She highlighted how SEL supports academic success by creating a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive learning environment where students feel valued, understood, and motivated to learn.

The seminar provided participants with valuable tools and perspectives to better support students’ emotional well-being and personal growth, aligning strongly with the school’s mission of forming holistic individuals grounded in values and compassion.

As part of the school’s commitment to developing competent and mission-driven student leaders, the faculty participated in a seminar entitled “Club Moderators’ Guide: Planning, Managing and Enhancing Student Organizations” on May 30, 2026.

The seminar was facilitated by Ms. Kathlyn Anne Pike, who provided valuable insights into the evolving role of club moderators in today’s educational landscape. She challenged participants to reframe their perspective from being merely activity managers to becoming formation leaders who intentionally guide, mentor, and empower students through meaningful organizational experiences. The session emphasized the importance of designing and facilitating student organizations that foster a sense of belonging, develop leadership skills, encourage active participation, and promote holistic growth among learners.

Throughout the seminar, participants explored effective strategies for planning and managing student organizations, creating purposeful club programs, strengthening student engagement, and cultivating future leaders who embody the values and mission of Dominican School Manila. Special emphasis was given to aligning student leadership initiatives with the school's Dominican educational philosophy and the TORCH Values—Truth, Orderliness, Reflection, Compassion and Honor.

The seminar was both informative and inspiring, equipping teachers with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to effectively mentor student leaders and enhance the impact of co-curricular programs within the school community.

Please be informed that there will be an extension of the School ID Processing Schedule on Saturday, June 6, 2026, for students who were unable to attend their assigned ID processing schedule last week.

Schedule:
8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

To ensure a smooth and uniform ID photo-taking process, we would like to reiterate the following guidelines:

Students must observe the prescribed school haircut in accordance with school policies.

Colored, dyed or highlighted hair is not permitted during the ID photo-taking.

Students are required to wear their prescribed daily school uniform.

We encourage all students who have not yet completed their ID processing to take advantage of this extended schedule.
