The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) in partnership with Bulacan State University and the Council of Deans and Heads of LIS Schools (CODHLIS) successfully held the 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗜𝗦 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 with the theme “𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙇𝙄𝙎 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙏𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩” last 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟱-𝟭𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at the 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘-𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆.

The summit gathered LIS student leaders and educators to share perspectives and co-create strategies that will shape the future of Library and Information Science education in the Philippines. Each session highlighted the evolving and interdisciplinary role of libraries and librarians in today’s digital age. It became a space where different leadership journeys were recognized, valued, and strengthened. ✨

As we reflect on this experience, we carry with us meaningful insights on ethical, innovative, and inclusive leadership, as well as new learnings from the research presentations. We also look forward to the continued growth of a National LIS Student Organization that will empower future leaders in the field. 🌟🌠

| Flexi-Place Work Arrangement

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 114, s. 2026, the University will implement a Flexi-Place Work Arrangement as part of the government’s energy conservation efforts.

Starting March 9, 2026, offices will observe a four-day onsite workweek (Tuesday–Friday), with Monday designated as Work-From-Home (WFH). University services will remain fully operational online on Mondays, and clients are encouraged to utilize official email channels and the SINTA portal for transactions.

Classes will shift to online modality every Monday.
