If you don’t know what to practice, just do the drills. 😁
I was able to finish my basic strokes and connected lowercase alphabet before Moochie jumped on the table to join the fun. šŸ˜†

If you want to start learning brush pen calligraphy, my Simplified Brush Lettering Workbook will guide you. It's super beginner-friendly and easy to follow.

Paint it anyway. šŸ’œ

I picked up my paint brushes and grabbed an old sheet of watercolor paper, just wanting to paint what’s been on my mind: a wreath with feathers and flowers.

But the truth? I haven’t painted in months, so I didn’t even know where to start. šŸ˜†
I’ve never really mastered how to paint feathers either, even though I’ve tried before.

Still, I knew I wanted to paint that day.
Even if it wouldn’t turn out perfect…
I painted it anyway.

And here’s how it turned out! 😁
Not the best but definitely worth it. Because creating something, even imperfectly, still feels like a win. šŸ’œ

Creating just for the sake of creating. 😊
No pressure. No end goal. No need to impress.

This morning, I finally made time to pick up my brush pens and create—just because I wanted to. And it felt so, so good. ✨

If you’ve been putting off your creative time, maybe this is your sign too. You don’t need the perfect tools, setup, or mood. Just start.

Let it be messy. Let it be imperfect.
Let it be yours. šŸ’œ

I’ve been extra quiet online lately…
Not because something big happened, but because opening social media just hasn’t brought me joy.
If anything, scrolling has felt a bit draining.

So I took a step back. And in that quiet, I realized—I haven’t been creating for myself.
Not for content. Not for promotion. Just creating for the joy of it.

Right now, I’m trying my best to slow down.
To embrace the quiet. To reconnect with the reason I started in the first place.

Here’s to making art that makes me feel something again. šŸ¤—

How about you?
Do you still find joy in posting or creating these days?
I’d love to hear how you’re feeling. šŸ’œ

A few years ago, I archived almost all my watercolor floral artwork posts because I kept hearing advice to stick to just one niche. So I chose calligraphy.

But… I’ve come to realize that I don’t have to limit myself.

I enjoy both. I love painting florals. I love doing calligraphy. And sharing them together brings me joy.

Sometimes we hear so much about what we should do that we forget why we started creating in the first place.

So here’s me, bringing back my florals because they’re part of my journey too. šŸ¤—šŸŒø

Do you also enjoy creating outside your ā€œmainā€ thing? I’d love to hear what other art forms light you up! šŸ’œ

From engineering to calligraphy, I never thought I’d last longer in a creative job than I did in corporate. šŸ˜„

But here I am, 5 years in teaching, creating, and sharing what I love most.

It hasn’t always been easy, but it’s always been worth it.
Because I love what I do.

To everyone who’s supported me through free content, paid offerings, or brand collabs, thank you so much. šŸ¤—

If you’ve been part of this journey, feel free to say hi in the comments. I'd love to hear from you. šŸ¤—šŸ’œ
