It is such an honor for us to be recognized in the 2026 Gawad Pangulo Para sa Natatanging Organisasyong Pangmag-aaral. There is so much for us to be thankful for, from our volunteers who have worked tirelessly in making our projects happen, our stakeholders, the healthcare providers, donors and partners who have shown their unwavering support for us, and of course to the parents and especially the children who continue to inspire us and who all believed in The Hope Projectโs advocacy.
Our organization has a lot to celebrate and reflect on upon receiving this achievement. The Hope Project was born in 2014, out of the frustration for our countryโs poor healthcare system, particularly for the challenges encountered by children who are diagnosed with chronic illnesses such as cancer. Seeing the weariness from their faces and the uncertainty in their parentsโ eyes as they went in and out of PGH reminded us that these children needed more than medical treatment, they needed hope.
With its mission of providing psychosocial and financial support for patients who were confined in PGH and the halfway homes around the area. Our volunteers would take time to play, bond, and talk with the kids who were confined inside the hospitals, cheering them up, trying to give them the experience of a normal childhood despite their ailments. In our own small way, we seek to restore pieces of their childhood that were taken away by their illness, that beyond this they are still kids deserving of joy, community, and hope.
As we continue to reflect on this year's theme, Ani at Alay: Tumutugon. Naglilingkod. Para sa Bayan, we recognize that this award is both an ani and an alay. For this is the fruit of years of service, compassion, love, and dedication from countless volunteers and partners who chose to respond to the needs of the community we serve. Together with this, it is an offering, a commitment to continue serving our kids with greater passion and purpose.
As long as there are children fighting battles far too young for their age, The Hope Project will continue to answer the call to serve. Lagi't lagi, para sa bayan. Always, in all ways, for the kids.

The Hope Project UPM aims to promote and ensure the normal development of a child confined in a hospital setting. We seek to turn commiseration into action through member formations, project involvements, and hospital volunteerism.
