The theme for the 2025 Alumni Homecoming “Reboot, Refresh, Rekindle …..A Paulinian Homecoming, v. 2025” articulates the SPMAFI Board’s objective of bringing back the fundamental purpose and essence of the alumni homecoming which is to come home to one’s Alma Mater, reconnect with our Paulinian Family and rekindle the Paulinian spirit and core values instilled in us by our beloved school that we share as an alumni community and make us distinctly Paulinian.

Expressed in the language of today’s generation , using technical jargon that have become buzzwords in our digitally -driven world, the 2025 Homecoming Theme connotes the following underlying meanings :

REBOOT is commonly understood to mean to start anew, reset a malfunctioning device , or recover lost files or memory. In this context , SPMAFI believes it is time to reboot the Paulinian homecoming so that it will operate as it should and fulfill the essence of why our alumni want to attend it. Having taken the lead in mounting the 2025 Homecoming, SPMAFI saw the opportunity to rethink our ways of working, spending priorities and hosting arrangements, to contain escalating costs and lighten the burden of funding it. Details of how the annual homecoming event will be managed and conducted moving forward will be shared and announced under separate cover.

REFRESH literally means to recharge, revitalize, rejuvenate, arouse, stimulate and restore strength and animation. Along these lines, SPMAFI wants to refresh the homecoming program format, to allow greater participation , interaction and bonding opportunities among alumni attendees, rather than focus on song and dance performances requiring costly high production values. Homecoming Program content should be updated to be more current or forward looking rather than merely reminiscing about the past, to appeal and become more relevant to younger generations of Paulinian alumni.

REKINDLE connotes the idea of re-awakening, resurrecting, stirring up something forgotten (like feelings, memories, beliefs and passions). SPMAFI wants the homecoming not only to stir up old memories , but to rekindle our pride in being Paulinians, provide the impetus to be more involved in our alumni community. More importantly, attending the homecoming should awaken in all Paulinian alumni the desire or commitment to pay forward and share our talents and resources to continue the legacy of our Paulinian education for the benefit of future generations.
