Engr. Ice Agustin’s first teaching stint came when he was requested to conduct a review for Chemical Engineering Board Examination right after his Board exam.
In less than a year, he became one of the most requested reviewers and has already conducted lectures for those who wish to take the Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineers and Electrical Engineering Board Examinations. Three years later at the age of 24, he published his first book, Calculator Mathematics, a recognized best-selling book and automatic
ally made him as one of the most highly-respected resource speakers in the country today. Having spoken to numerous Mathematics Conferences and over 100 universities all over the Philippines, he has witnessed the poor quality of Mathematics education most especially in the integration of technology. To be able to help in the improvement of Mathematics Education, he opened the Ice Agustin Institute of Mathematics (iAIM) in 2009. iAIM’s prime objective is to uplift the Mathematics education in the country by incorporating the power of technology. iAIM is currently partnered with the industry leaders in technology-based Mathematics like SHARP, Mathematica and Algebrator. iAIM currently teaches college freshmen students of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Engineering. In 2010, iAIM adopted Buenavista Elementary School, a remote school from a fifth class barangay from the town of Gamu, a fifth class municipality in the province of Isabela. iAIM wishes to help school by building a library by the first half of 2012. This year, iAIM wishes to expand its help in providing advanced quality academic lessons to Filipino secondary students by recently opening its program in College Entrance Review. The new program will be a collaboration of the Institute’s expertise in review and of the top-caliber lecturer’s from different reputable universities. iAIM wants to ensure the capability of graduating students not only to enter their dream college institutions but also to conquer college as a winner. As the years progress, iAIM will continue to live up to the core values of MORALITY, ETHICS, PROFESSIONALISM, INTEGRITY, OPENNESS, TRANSPARENCY, CREATIVITY, INNOVATIVENESS, ACADEMIC FREEDOM, EXCELLENCE and SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.
