Organized through the concerted initiatives of the 𝘗𝘜𝘗 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦, 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘨𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘜𝘗 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦, 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺, this event is held in celebration of 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 🏳️‍🌈 and in pursuit of creating spaces that advance 𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑡𝑦 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑖𝑛𝑐𝑙𝑢𝑠𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑡𝑦.

The series opens with the inaugural lecture: 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬: 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫

The event features 𝘋𝘳. 𝘑𝘢𝘺𝘢 𝘑𝘢𝘤𝘰𝘣𝘰, a scholar teaching q***r and trans studies, as the keynote speaker. Joining the conversation is 𝙅𝙤𝙝𝙣 𝙋𝙖𝙤𝙡𝙤 𝙎𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙚, a researcher and instructor of cultural and literary criticism, who will facilitate the dialogue.

Grounded in both theory and lived experience, the conversation will explore how trans and q***r identities navigate systemic barriers within institutional spaces while highlighting strategies toward building more inclusive and affirming communities in postcolonial contexts.

The College of Arts and Letters Student Council invites all members of the PUP community to participate in the NPU Bill Town Hall Consultation, a university-wide consultation and discussion forum aimed at fostering informed, meaningful, and democratic dialogue on the refiled National Polytechnic University (NPU) Bill.

The consultation will bring together students and representatives from various sectors of the University to discuss the opportunities, challenges, and implications of the proposed measure for the future of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.

Noong taong 1565, opisyal na binaliktad ng Espanya ang sistema ng demokrasya sa ating bansa. Ang 𝘮𝘢𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘥𝘢𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘰𝘯𝘨 pamamahala ang nag-udyok sa ating mga bayani na makipaglaban at ibuwis ang kanilang buhay para sa kinabukasan ng bawat Pilipino.

Hindi lamang isang petsa sa ating kasaysayan ang paggunita natin sa 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗮𝗻, ngunit ito rin ay isang marka ng pagkilala sa sakripisyo at pagmamahal sa Pilipinas mula noon hanggang ngayon. Hindi naging madali ang pagbuo ng isang bansang malaya at mapagpalaya. Bago pa man ang pagdating ng mga Kastila, hangarin na ng bansa ay maipamalas ang natatanging kagandahan nito para sa mga Pilipino. Bawat pagwagayway ng ating bandila ay nagsisilbing isang simbolo ng tunay na kalayaan mula sa kamay ng pang-aabuso sa kapangyarihan.

Tungo sa kasarinlan ng lipunang ating kinalakihan, manaig nawa ang pagiging malay at mulat kontra sa taliwas na pamamahala. Ang pagkakabuklod-buklod ng iba’t ibang estado ng sangkatauhan ang magpapalaya para sa tunay na Pilipinas.

𝑺𝒚𝒑𝒏𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒔:
At the beginning of American Rule in the Philippines, a mother and her son ran off to the mountains to live in peace and isolation. One day the son finds a pregnant woman in the woods and brings her home. His mother disapproves and distances herself from them, eventually growing old and passing on. In the meantime, the son develops a relationship with the pregnant woman, who gives birth to a baby boy.

Years later, the boy is believed to have seen a sign of the Savior. Father and son set out to the woods to find an amulet that would save their lives. As the monsoon rains threaten the landscape, the entire family faces their individual battles for survival; the father’s growing blindness, the mother’s loneliness, and the son’s curiosity of the world beyond the mountains.

As the harsh weather claims both parents’ lives, and the American troops discover him, the boy is forced to face his true identity.
