UST Main Building

UST Main Building This unique and impressive structure is a famous landmark in the City of Manila. It was designed by the Dominican priest and engineer, Fr. Roque Ruaño, O.P.

Declared by the National Museum as a National Cultural Treasure together with other 3 campus structures namely the UST Chapel, Arch of the Centuries and the Central Seminary. and was completed on July 2, 1927. It has the distinction of being the first earthquake-proof building in the country. The building is composed of 40 independent structures separated from one another by a gap of one inch whic

h is filled with loose cement. One of these structures rises beyond the level of the fourth floor to form the tower, at the top of which is a Cross. This tower and cross can be seen from many parts of the city.
