✨ My Student Achieved 176k a Month in Tech in Just 2 Years! ✨

I just wanted to share a short story dahil baka may makuha rin kayong aral dito. My student reach out to me last Thursday at nag papa-salamat dahil na achieve narin daw niya ang 6 digits na salary.

Sobrang nakaka proud dahil this student of mine wasn’t the smartest in the class and wasn’t even doing very well in programming pero alam nyo ba kung anong pinag kaiba nya sa iba? Siya ay very passionate at merong burning passion maging successful in the future. I'm 100% sure na bago nya yan marating, isang damakmak na sacrifices ang ginawa nya.

Siya yung student ko na gabing gabi, mag cha-chat sakin para i-share yung struggle nya. Hindi mahihiyang sabihin kung saan siya mahina dahil gusto nya i-improve yung sarili nya.

He achieved this salary even though he wasn’t skilled in programming. What he did was explore the tech industry, find the position that suited him best, and focus on that area. Programming isn’t everything in the tech industry.

I often read posts in IT groups about students struggling, especially with their programming subjects, and worrying about whether they still have a future in IT, CS, or IS. Some are even considering switching courses.

One of the most important skills in IT is being resourceful. We need to learn to explore the internet and find answers to our questions on our own.

Programming or development isn’t the only career path in IT. Like my student, who realized programming wasn’t his strength, he shifted his focus toward design and eventually became a Product Lead.

Sa mga hindi nakakaalam, here are just a few of the many career paths in our tech field:

1. Network Administration: Setting up and managing network infrastructures like routers, switches, and firewalls.
2. Cybersecurity: Protecting systems and networks against cyberattacks.
3. Database Management: Maintaining and optimizing database systems.
4. IT Support: Assisting end-users with troubleshooting and system setup.
5. Project Management: Planning to ensure smooth project delivery.
6. Business Analysis: Analyzing business processes and creating business requirements.
7. Software Testing: Testing applications to ensure quality.

I know some of this may still feel overwhelming or unclear, but don’t worry or be afraid. All of these can be learned online.

Many of us with experience in the IT industry went through similar challenges and started with little knowledge. Just enjoy learning and the journey itself ❤️.

I wanted to share the exciting reason why I’ve been inactive for almost a month. I took a step back from creating content because I GOT MARRIED! 💍✨

I talk a lot about I.T. on here, but today, I want to take a moment to share a personal story that’s close to my heart. One that I hope inspires many of you.

My wife is a perfect example that if you truly want something, you can achieve it, regardless of where you start. She graduated with a degree in BS Tourism, worked as a bank teller for years, and had no prior experience in the tech industry. But through sheer hard work, dedication, and consistency, she made the leap into I.T. and is now a Software QA Embedded Engineer.

She didn't take shortcuts or have a head start—she simply worked hard, committed herself to learning, and stayed consistent. Seeing her transform her career so successfully makes me incredibly proud, and it's a testament to the idea that nothing is impossible if you’re willing to put in the effort.

So, if you’re doubting yourself, It’s not about where you start. it’s about how badly you want it and the steps you take to make it happen.

I consider myself lucky to be part of I.T Industry. I've seen firsthand how management can easily spot who truly knows their stuff from those who only pretend to.

If you think the key to getting management’s attention is by trying to please them, let me tell you that your work will do the talking. Instead of worrying about how to get noticed, focus on delivering your tasks on time (or even ahead of schedule) and contributing to the team. But remember, it's not just about skills. Your values as a person, like being reliable, honest, and a team player, matter just as much.

In this field, people who combine strong skills with good values will always stand out and be recognized by management.

For those who say that getting a job in the IT industry relies on having "connections," I want to clarify that this is not true. If an applicant gets hired without the necessary skills, as some claim, it won't just be the applicant who ends up embarrassed—it will also reflect poorly on the person who vouched for them. After all, how can someone work effectively if they don’t know what they’re doing? 🙏
