𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐂𝐒-𝐒𝐆 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐇𝐲𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝-𝐅𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫.

Yesterday, the College Student Government of the College of Computing Studies formally submitted its request to Dean Ernanie M. Carlos Jr. for the adoption of a Hybrid-Flexible Learning Modality for the 2nd semester of this academic year.

This request is backed by a survey conducted among CCS students, gathering a total of 639 responses. The results reveal that the vast majority of students prefer flexible learning modalities — 48.20% opting for hybrid/blended learning and 47.57% for fully online classes. Only 4.23% preferred full face-to-face setup. Simply put, 95.77% of CCS students are calling for a more adaptable and accessible learning environment.

The request takes into consideration the key concerns raised by students, including high transportation costs, financial constraints, unstable internet connectivity, and frequent power interruptions — all of which significantly affect their ability to attend on-campus classes regularly.

The CSG proposes that lecture-based subjects be conducted online, while face-to-face sessions remain strictly for laboratory and hands-on subjects. Final examinations will continue to be administered face-to-face to ensure fairness and reliability of assessment.

The CSG is unwavering in its commitment to uphold the academic welfare of every CCS student. Flexible learning is not a matter of convenience — it is a matter of necessity. We await the administration's official response on this request.

Today, we formally acknowledge the conclusion of service for 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 of our CCS Student Government executive team.

After successfully completing their terms, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗔. 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗼 (Vice Governor), 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗕. 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗼 (Secretary), 𝗠𝘀. 𝗘𝗹𝗵𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗮ñ𝗼 (Treasurer), 𝗠𝘅. 𝗠𝗼𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗻 (Auditor), and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗵 𝗜𝗹𝘆 𝗚𝗼 (Representative) have decided not to seek further extensions and will be stepping down from their positions.
