We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to our distinguished resource speakers for sharing their expertise during our Emergency Preparedness Seminar held today, July 11, 2026.
Mr. Edmund G. Villareal, Principal IV of V. Mapa High School, CESE, and Incident Command System Cadre (Instructor), guided our teachers, staff, and security personnel on the proper response during earthquakes and active shooter threats, emphasizing the importance of staying calm, making informed decisions, and working together during emergencies.
Mr. Rolley C. So, President of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Fire Rescue, Emergency and Civic Association of the Philippines Inc., shared valuable lessons on fire prevention, preparedness, and emergency response, reinforcing life-saving practices that every member of the school community should know.
We immediately put these lessons into action through hands-on emergency drills, practicing the duck, cover, and hold procedure; earthquake evacuation; and accountability headcounts. We also had firsthand experience in the proper use of fire extinguishers.
Through Mr. Villareal’s and Mr. So’s insightful discussions and practical guidance, we were able to gain essential knowledge and skills to help build a safer, more prepared, and more resilient school community.
