It’s been a while since I last shared anything here. A few years ago, I quietly stepped away from coaching. It was a difficult decision, but one I made for personal and meaningful reasons. I thought I had closed that chapter of my life.
But today, something beautiful reminded me that our purpose never really leaves us—it just patiently waits for the right moment to return.
Let me take you back to a story that left a mark on my heart.
A few years ago, I was coaching a student who worked as a public nurse in the Philippines. Her life was far from easy. She would trek across mountains under the scorching heat, visiting remote communities where medical help was scarce. She was doing noble work—not for recognition, but out of deep commitment to serve.
Despite her financial struggles, she saved up just enough to take the course I offered. She was determined. She studied with whatever time and resources she had. No complaints, no excuses—just pure grit and faith. I remember how she would always say:
“I will become a UKRN.”
And she meant it.
Throughout her review, she faced challenge after challenge, but never gave up. She kept me updated with every small win—each passed exam, every step forward. As a coach, I made it my mission to keep encouraging her, to remind her of the dream she was chasing. I believed in her, just as she believed in herself.
Then life went quiet. We hadn’t spoken in almost a year.
Until today.
I received a message from her—and in it, she shared the news I’d been hoping to hear.
She made it. She is now a UK Registered Nurse.
Reading her message stunned me. It moved me to tears. She didn’t just pass an exam—she fulfilled a promise she made to herself. And what touched me even more? She still remembered to say thank you.
In that moment, everything came full circle. The long hours, the quiet sacrifices, the days I doubted whether I was still making an impact—they all made sense again.
To my former student: You did it. You made us all proud. And you reminded me of the reason I became a coach in the first place.
This is more than just her victory—it’s a reminder to all of us:
