[CES ANNOUNCEMENTS]

GCI is an international educational program focusing on AI, data science, and their practical applications in business for university students. It aims to nurture future leaders who can connect technology, innovation, and society. In April 2026 alone, the program received applications from more than 25,000 students representing over 2,900 universities across more than 120 countries and regions.

Program highlights

Curriculum: A comprehensive online course covering Python, data science, machine learning, SQL, and the practical application of data in business through hands-on assignments and competitions.

Duration: Three months, from September 17 to December 17, 2026.

Format: Fully online, allowing students to participate from anywhere.

Cost: Completely free of charge for all students (undergraduate and graduate students).

Certificate: Students who successfully complete the program receive a certificate of completion from the Matsuo-Iwasawa Laboratory, the University of Tokyo.

Global opportunity: Students who demonstrate exceptional performance may be selected as Outstanding Students and invited to participate in a special study tour in Japan.

Application deadline: September 10, 2026.

The Civil Engineering Society (CES) puts civil engineering knowledge to the test in another exciting episode of CEShorts: What’s Your Major? 🏗️🧠

Armed with a series of trivia questions ranging from fundamentals to fun facts, we challenged a fellow Civil Engineering student to see just how much they know about the course they proudly call their major.
