The Institute of Clinical Epidemiology of the National Institutes of Health and the College of Public Health invite faculty members and researchers from HEIs to the 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗘𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 program under the 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗗 𝗛𝗨𝗦𝗔𝗬 𝗕𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗢𝗡 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 initiative of CHED and UP Manila.
𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆:
• Faculty members from HEIs who are involved in teaching, research, monitoring, or evaluation in the health or social sciences.
• Knowledge on core concepts, specifically Linear Regression, hypothesis testing, and p-values.
• Proficiency in or experience in using data analysis software (e.g., Stata, R, or Python) is highly recommended.

The event discussed the importance of purpose, resilience, leadership, and adaptability in shaping meaningful careers in public health amid an increasingly complex and unpredictable global health landscape.

Advancing Public Health Together: UP CPH Partners with DOH CHD IV-A for STI Microscopy Training 🔬
The University of the Philippines Manila College of Public Health (UP CPH), through the Department of Medical Microbiology, recently collaborated with the DOH Center for Health Development (CHD) IV-A to conduct a specialized Training on Basic Microscopy of Sexually Transmitted Infections from 25 to 27 May 2026.
During the three-day intensive program, our faculty and experts helped equip 20 Registered Medical Technologists from the CALABARZON region with advanced proficiency in identifying and diagnosing common STIs under the microscope.

IN PHOTOS: The University of the Philippines Manila College of Public Health welcomed delegates from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for a benchmarking visit and exploratory meeting aimed at formalizing academic partnerships and expanding opportunities for collaboration in public health education, research, and scholarly exchange.
The meeting brought together faculty members, administrators, and students from CUHK to discuss possible areas of cooperation and review plans for a Memorandum of Understanding. The proposed partnership seeks to strengthen collaboration through joint research activities, consultancy services, faculty and student exchanges, and participation in academic events and projects.

UP Manila Provides Technical Support to Tarlac Provincial College for BS Public Health and BS Nursing Syllabi Development
The Technical Assistance for Tarlac Provincial College (TPC) Workshop on Syllabus Development for the BS Public Health and BS Nursing Programs was successfully conducted last 01 June 2026, as part of the academic collaboration between the University of the Philippines Manila (UP Manila) and TPC.
Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between UP Manila and TPC, the initiative aims to support the development of TPC’s BS Public Health and BS Nursing programs, particularly in the areas of curricular and syllabi development.
The workshop gathered the TPC Technical Working Group, with faculty members from the UP Manila College of Public Health and College of Nursing providing consultation and technical expertise throughout the activity, together with technical assistants who supported the workshop sessions.
Prior to the workshop proper, Dr. Maria Margarita M. Lota delivered a lecture on Curricular and Syllabi Development, Outcomes-Based Education (OBE), and Instructional Design, providing foundational insights to guide the development of responsive and competency-based syllabi. The activity was further enriched by a message from UP Manila Chancellor Michael L. Tee, who emphasized the importance of strengthening academic partnerships in developing future health professionals and improving health education.
This collaborative effort reflects the shared commitment of UP Manila and TPC in advancing quality health professions education and strengthening the future healthcare workforce.
