Yesterday, the 𝐅𝐄𝐔 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 celebrated their 𝓫𝓮𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓭 𝓼𝓮𝓷𝓲𝓸𝓻𝓼 with a party before their graduation.

Their research paper combined theories from 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑑𝑖𝑠𝑐𝑖𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑓𝑖𝑒𝑙𝑑𝑠 𝑠𝑖𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑚𝑖𝑔𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑠. It investigated the linguistic experiences of Transnational Filipino Migrant Construction Workers (TFMCWs)—aiming to contribute to the growing field of migration linguistics by giving voice to underrepresented population of transnational migrants in academic discourse, while also extending the application of translanguaging theory outside education contexts and framing it as a contributing practice that shapes a TFMCWs' language identity.

Ultimately, this study urges audiences to critically assess how influential figures frame significant social issues.

May this study compel scholars, real time institutional settings, and Filipinos to critically examine linguistic manipulation in institutional legislative discourse, and to remain vigilant in recognizing how discourse can conceal, construct, or distort truth and accountability in legal discourse.

The 4th Year 𝐁𝐀 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 (𝐸𝑛𝑔𝑙𝑖𝑠ℎ 𝐿𝑎𝑛𝑔𝑢𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝑆𝑡𝑢𝑑𝑖𝑒𝑠) students have successfully defended their theses at the Admissions Building, room 207-A.
