DEFEND NEGROS! HUSTISYA PARA SA NEGROS 19! HUSTISYA PARA KINA ALYSSA ALANO, RJ LEDESMA, MAUREEN SANTUYO, AT ERROL WENDEL! MILITAR SA KANAYUNAN, PALAYASIN!

Noong Abril 19, higit-kumulang 168 na pamilya at 653 na residente ay sapilitang lumikas dahil sa operasyong militar ng Armed Forces of the Philippines kung saan nagsagawa ng aerial strifing o pagpapaulan ng bala ang 79th Infantry Battalion ng AFP sa Barangay Salamanca at San Jose sa Taboso, Negros Occidental. Ang pamamasismo ng mga militar sa rehiyon ang siyang pumaslang sa 19 na indibidwal, kung saan kasama rito sina Alyssa Alano, isang UP Diliman USC Councilor, RJ Ledesma, miyembro ng League of Filipino Students Negros at isang mamamahayag mula sa Paghimutad, Maureen Santuyo, dating miyembro ng NNARA Youth na naging peasant organizer, at si Errol Wendel, isang peasant advocate na naging organizer at researcher ng Unyon ng Manggagawa sa Agrikultura. Ang pagkitil ng mga buhay nila sa kamay ng mga militar ay tahasang paglabag sa International Humanitarian Law (IHL), na siyang lalo lamang nagpalitaw sa pagiging pasista ng estado sa masang-api.

Isa ang isla ng Negros sa pinakamahirap na mga rehiyon sa bansa kung saan talamak pa rin ang kawalan ng lupa, ang sistemang kasama at naglalakihang mga hacienda. Dahil dito, isa rin ito sa rehiyong pinakamalakas ang paglaban para sa tunay na reporma sa lupa at para sa kapakanan ng mga magsasaka. Kung saan may paglaban nandoon din ang AFP na lumalabag sa karapatang pantao ng mga mamamayan. Ang karahasan ng militar sa isla ay lalo pang pinasidhi sa pagpapatupad ng Memorandum Order No. 32 noong 2018, kung saan ang mga rehiyon ng Bicol, Samar, at Negros isinailalim sa “state of lawless violence” na siyang papahintulot sa walang habaa na mga operasyon ng militar at pulis sa isla. Ang mga panukalang ito ay ipinagpatuloy sa programa ng administrasyon ni Marcos na National Action Plan for Unity, Peace, and Development (NAP-UPD) upang lalo pang supilin at busalan ng pasistang rehimen ang mga daing ng mga magsasaka.

Mariing kinokondena ng mga nagkakaisang konseho at organisasyon ng UP Manila ang pagpaslang ng AFP sa Negros 19 at ang pagpapatindi ng militarisasyon sa isla ng Negros. Kailanman ay hindi solusyon ang karahasan sa mga mamamayang nananawagan ng tunay na reporma sa lupa.

Hindi titigil ang taumbayan hangga’t hindi nakakamit ang hustisya para sa Negros 19 at sa lahat ng biktima ng pasistang estado, at hangga’t hindi napapanagot ang administrasyong Marcos Jr. na siyang nagpahihintulot sa malawakang pagpaslang at karahasan sa mamamayang Pilipino. Sa halip na maglaan ng pondo para sa serbisyong panlipunan, ito ay napupunta sa pamamasista at pagterorisa ng mga militar sa mga komunidad.

Aming dinadakila sina Alyssa, RJ, Mau, Errol at lahat ng indibidwal na nasawi sa Negros 19 bilang mga huwarang martir ng mamamayan. Taas-kamao nating pagpugayan ang kanilang katapangan sa pagtangan sa hamon na tumungo sa kanayunan, pag-aralan ang lipunan at makipamuhay sa batayang masa ng isla ng Negros. Sila ay inspirasyon sa amin upang tunay na paglingkuran ang sambayanan at patuloy na ipaglaban ang tunay na kalayaan at demokrasya.
