We honor the memory of former Senator Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., a brave leader who stood up for democracy during one of the country's darkest eras

๐–๐ก๐จ ๐ฐ๐š๐ฌ ๐ก๐ž?Ninoy Aquino was a courageous opposition leader who spoke out against the authoritarian rule of Ferdinand Marcos. Tragically, he was assassinated at the Manila International Airport in 1983 upon his return from the exile.

His assassination sparked national outrage and unified the opposition against the government. This sacrifice paved the way for the 1986 People Power Revolution, which restored democracy to the nation.
