The FEATI Propulsion Engineering Laboratory was established to continue FEATI's legacy of innovation in rocket technology. In 1966, a group of FEATI aeronautical and mechanical engineering students together with their professors Bonifacio Tan and Danilo Bigtacion, formed what is now known as the Philippine Rocket Research Society. Through their dedication and hard work, they successfully launched two rockets-Aero 1 and Aero 1-A-on October 2, 1966. This launch marked the first of its kind in the country. One of their most notable projects is the Pegasus rocket, which reached an altitude of 34,000 feet.

The Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA), established in 2019, marks a new era for our country as a significant player in the global space industry. With a focus on research, development, and collaboration, PhilSA is dedicated to harnessing space technology for national development and inspiring the next generation of Filipino space scientists and engineers.

This year, the agency proudly celebrates the 5th anniversary of the signing of Republic Act No. 11363, the Philippine Space Act, which established PhilSA. This event not only promotes space awareness but also honors Filipino contributions to space science and highlights the invaluable benefits of space technology for all Filipinos.
