We are thrilled to announce the upcoming release of Howie Severino’s latest book, 𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘐 𝘒𝘯𝘦𝘸: 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘐 𝘋𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘞𝘳𝘰𝘵𝘦 𝘈𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘈𝘯𝘺𝘸𝘢𝘺.

This officially marks his return to book publishing after a two-decade hiatus. His work is a collection of profiles and essays on prominent figures from the clergy, media, politics, beloved artists and writers, and a few foreign celebrities he covered throughout his career.

AFTER A two-decade hiatus from book publishing, veteran journalist Howie Severino is set to return with a new title featuring essays about prominent figures he covered throughout his career.

Severino, best known as the host of long-running documentary series I-Witness, will release “People I Knew: And Some I Didn’t But Wrote About Them Anyway” under UST Publishing House.

According to UST Publishing House Deputy Director Asst. Prof. Paul Castillo, the work belongs to the tradition of creative non-fiction, which blends literary craft with factual journalistic stories.

Almario)'s latest collection of poetry KINUTSARITANG LIWANAG will be available for the first time at the Philippine Book Festival, along with titles by two debut authors, SHE-DEVIL by Isabel Cabal and TANGA KA NA LANG KUNG NANINIWALA KA PA SA KAPANGYARIHAN NG KUWENTO by Benjo Gutierrez.

Lourd de Veyra's reprinted first novel SUPER PANALO SOUNDS! will also be available at the fair.

With the new Archivo Series, you can now own pieces from the rich and unparalleled archives of the University of Santo Tomas, starting with THE ART OF THE VISAYAN-HILIGAINO LANGUAGE by Mariano Cuartero, OP, first published by UST in 1878.

Originally published in Spanish as ARTE DEL IDIOMA BISAYA-HILIGAINO, this new edition features a page-by-page translation by National Book Award-winning author Alice Sun-Cua and includes a foreword by Fr. Gaspar Sigaya, OP., the university’s archivist. Journalist and academic Jenny L. Ortuoste served as its editor.

This first volume in the series, a collaboration between the Archivo de la Universidad de Santo Tomas and the UST Publishing House, celebrates the 75th year of the Archdiocese of Jaro and its 160th year as Diocese. Cuartero, a Dominican, was the first Bishop of Jaro.
