‎𝗦𝗖𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 | Bloomed from Roots to Petals: STEM Flower Dissection
‎
‎STEM 12 recently conducted a flower dissection and presented the parts they observed during their Biology class, under the guidance of Mr. Edzekiel David Llacuna.
‎
‎Before beginning the activity, Mr. Llacuna discussed the different parts of a flower and their functions. The dissection allowed students to carefully open and examine each structure individually, giving them a detailed view of the flower’s internal anatomy and its reproductive processes.
‎
‎For students, the experience was not only educational but also enjoyable—just as Quenny Gomez of STEM12-2 shared:
‎“My favorite part is when I carefully remove the petals. I felt like I was playing and enjoying like a kid because I often picked flowers when I was a silly toddler and played with the petals.”
‎
‎In the field of botany, scientists such as George Haughn and Chris Somerville (1988) developed foundational concepts, including the ABC Model of flower development, which explains how specific gene combinations shape the formation of floral organs. While not part of the class discussion, this model provides helpful scientific context for understanding the structures students examined during the dissection.

‎Through hands-on activities like this, students, especially in the STEM strand, practice this activity, making learning more engaging and effective.

In light of the suspension of face-to-face classes as directed by the Manila City LGU due to the inclement weather and the decision of the management, 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 in PHINMA Saint Jude College Manila and Quezon City (Senior High School Level) are 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 25, 2025.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | PHINMAED Grade 11 Students, Nagpakitang Gilas sa Entablado

Magarbong idinaos ang Musical Play ng PHINMAED Grade 11 students sa PHINMA Hall, Audio-Visual Room (AVR), sa kolaborasyon ng mga core subjects na Oral Communication, 21st Century Literature, at Contemporary Philippine Arts sa ilalim ng pamumuno nina Bb. Mariel Salvador, Bb. Mardena Germedia, Bb. Genalyn Dayawon, Bb. Anna Mae Marcelino, G. Rito Toleroso, Bb. Diana Marie Purca, at Bb. Audrey Pedrosa, noong Lunes, Oktubre 27, 2025 at Martes, Oktubre 28, 2025.

Mahusay nila itong ipinamalas sa entablado, kung saan tila dinala ang mga manonood sa dalawang magkaibang mundo ng mahika, ang makulay na mundo ng sirko at ang masiglang mundo ng mga kabataan.

Hindi lamang ang mga Grade 11 students ang nagpakita ng husay, dahil hindi rin nagpahuli ang mga tagapagdaloy ng patimpalak na sina Bb. Xyrille Cundangan at G. John Manansala noong Lunes, at sina Bb. Rich Santos at Bb. Reagan Torres noong Martes, na nagbigay-aliw sa mga manonood.

Kasama rin ang mga huradong sina G. Railey Domasig, G. Michael Julius Ching, G. Reiniel Ocampo, Bb. Ammi Pineda, at Bb. Jenica Borlagdan, na naging saksi sa kahusayan at talento ng mga estudyante.

Pagkatapos ng lahat ng pagtatanghal, inanunsyo ng mga hurado ang mga nagwagi:
STEM 11-1 – High School Musical,
STEM 11-2 – Wicked,
STEM 11-6 – The Greatest Showman, at
HE 11-2 – Encanto,
Dahil sa kanilang kahanga-hanga at mapanghalinang performance na tunay na nagpamangha at nagpatuwa sa mga manonood.
