Vice President for External Relations and Internationalization, Prof. Dr. Anthony Shun Fung Chiu, attended the 13th ASEAN+3 Heads of International Relations Meeting from April 16 to 17, 2026. The event was hosted by the ASEAN University Network, with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore serving as the local host. This year’s theme was “Leading Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Age of AI Towards Strategic Partnership.” During the event, Prof. Dr. Chiu served as a speaker for the Leaders’ Panel Session.

For being scholarship recipients for the Women’s Leadership in Asia (WoLA) 2026.

Women’s Leadership in Asia (WoLA) is a distinguished online program dedicated to Women Leaders in Higher Education Institutions across Asia.

Prof. Dr. Anthony SF Chiu, Vice President for External Relations and Internationalization, paid courtesy calls in Taipei with the Vice Presidents and senior administrators of National Normal University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Cheng Chi University, and Ming Chi University of Technology, and had a meaningful discussion on how to operationalize existing collaborations and new programs. These institutions are among the top universities in the area of STEM, education, and political science.

To commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Netherlands and the Philippines, St. La Salle Hall is illuminated in orange—the national color of the Netherlands.

De La Salle University, represented by Prof. Dr. (Anthony) Shun Fung Chiu, Vice President for External Relations and Internationalization, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Deakin University, represented by Dr. John Molony, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Vice President (International). Deakin University is a public institution in Victoria, Australia, ranked Top 250 in the THE World University Rankings 2026.

Prof. Dr. Chiu was accompanied by Dr. Mariel Monica Sauler, Chair of the Economics Department (Carlos L. Tiu School of Economics), and Dr. Maria Guadalupe Salanga, Chair of the Psychology Department (College of Liberal Arts), during the visit to Deakin University.

On February 26, De La Salle University had the pleasure of hosting a courtesy call from Soka University, led by President Dr. Mika Suzuki and her team. The discussion focused on deepening the long-standing partnership between the two institutions.

The Soka delegates were warmly welcomed by DLSU’s Provost, Dr. Robert Roleda, Associate Deans from various colleges, and the OVPERI Program Manager for Partnerships.
