EJES HOSTS 1st CALLE CUP DISTRICT MEET
Emilio Jacinto Elementary School served as the host school for the district level of the first-ever Yorme’s Cup for Academic Language and Literacy Excellence (CALLE) competition on November 14, 2025, at the school’s social hall.
CALLE aims to develop learners' skills in communication and civic knowledge, promote healthy competition and intellectual engagement, and foster awareness of current issues and informed citizenship rooted in Filipino values.
Twelve learners representing each school in the district competed for the lone spot in the finals.
Ruth Caitlyn M. Macaranas of Timoteo Paez bagged first place and will represent District I after garnering an overall score of 25 points.
EJES’ representative, Terrence D. Dela Rosa of Grade V–St. Faustina Kowalska, earned a total of 9 points.
When asked about his experience, Terrence said he was glad to represent EJES in the competition and promised to do better if given another chance.
Terrence also highlighted the sacrifices of his parents, classmates, and teachers, especially his adviser, Mrs. Fatima B. Malacas, during their training sessions, saying that they inspired him to push through and compete for the school.
The competition was graced by SDO-Manila’s Public Schools District Supervisors (PSDS), principals, teacher-trainers, and parents.
The quiz bee grand finals will be held on December 2, 2025, at Diamond Hotel, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.
