To all dear co wellbeing advocates. This is for free and re Against Su***de Advocacy
In accordance with Republic Act (RA.) No. 7722 otherwise known as the "Higher Education Act of 1994," current enactment of Philippine laws, particularly R.A. No. 11036, otherwise known as the "Mental Health Act," RA. No. 11223 otherwise known as the "Universal Health Care Act," issuance of the Joint Administrative Order (JAO) No. 2022-0001 entitled "Guidelines on Healthy Settings Framework in Learning Institutions," which anchors to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3: Good Health and Wellbeing; the CHED Office of Student Development and Services (OSDS) shall be conducting the "A WELLBEING WEBINAR IN SU***DE PREVENTION AMONG HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS" on December 7, 2023 at 8:00 am to 12:00 NN via online conference application.
Students are the key stakeholder of all higher education institutions (HEls); the main reason for essentially giving extensive attention to their needs aside from academically preparing the lives of the students for a life of service to society. Meaningful programs and activities through the student affairs and services (SAS) are just one of the mechanisms in improving students' welfare and development. Hence, the SAS programs and activities in HEIs are expected to evolve and be redefined to guarantee an environment that will foster the safety, health and well-being of learners and school personnel, thereby promoting healthy learning institutions (HLI).
The objectives of the activity are as follows:
institute a program specifically on su***de prevention and promote help-seeking behaviors in the school community;
initiate the extensive orientation and capacity-building/training activities of school administrators and heads, guidance counselors, and other interested participants about su***de prevention;
emphasize the prioritization within the HEI for a presence of mental health preparedness program and an active referral system; and
strengthen convergence among the HEls and share practices and initiatives.
Expected participants are from the CHED central and regional offices, HEI administrators/heads, HEI personnel handling health services, guidance counselors, wellbeing advocates, student leaders, and other interested participants.
Please confirm attendance through the link https://bit.ly/3QSWzMd or QR Code by November 28, 2023.
For any questions or clarification, you may contact the OSDS Local Student Affairs Division, through telephone number (02) 8988-0001 or email address [email protected]
For wide dissemination and usual cooperation.
Thank you,
