Advancing its commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and internationalization, the University of Santo Tomas College of Rehabilitation Sciences (UST-CRS) Department of Occupational Therapy successfully conducted academic benchmarking visits with two premier institutions in South Korea: ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ on June 9, and ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐๐ on June 10. ๐๏ธ๐

The University of Santo Tomas continues to strengthen its international research partnerships through the recent VR training and institutional visit of its research team at Soonchunhyang University (SCHU), South Korea, held from May 25 to 28, 2026. The visit forms part of a research collaboration funded by the National Research Foundation of Korea, led by the UST Center for Health Research and Movement Science in collaboration with the Department of Occupational Therapy.

The team also visited SCHU Hospital Cheonan, SCHU Hospital Seoul, the School of Nursing at SCHU Hospital Cheonan, the SCHU Department of Occupational Therapy and its research laboratories, and engaged in collaborative discussions with the SCHU Vice Director of International Exchange. This partnership supports the development of AI-powered and VR-based technologies for pediatric rehabilitation, with the goal of improving access to culturally responsive screening and intervention services for Filipino children and families.
