🎄 All I Want for Christmas Is… Awesome Behavior! 🎄
This Christmas, I’m not just watching for Santa…
I’m taking data on who’s being nice, who’s being naughty, and what’s reinforcing it. 😄
Remember:
✨ Cookies left out = positive reinforcement
✨ Good behavior = access to presents
✨ Tantrums = extinction (sorry, Elf on the Shelf runs the program)
As a Behavior Analyst, I can confirm that:
• Sharing increases when toys are abundant
• Kindness goes up when praise is delivered immediately
• Family gatherings are naturalistic teaching environment with better snacks
So this holiday season, may your:
📈 Data be stable
🎁 Reinforcers be strong
🧠 Antecedents be clear
and your problem behaviors decrease faster than wrapping paper disappears.
