Tita Helen, a true role model for the Filipino women. Through her efforts she was able to promote Filipino culture through the establishment of the Bayanihan Philippine Folk Dance Company along with former Philippine National Artist Lucresia R. Kasilag. Not only did she do that, she also led high-level delegations concerning the protection of the environment during her time as a Philippine Senator. Tita Helen was also one of the people who negotiated and established the Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women in the United Nations that promoted women’s rights to the whole world.

Tita Helen is an epitome of a Filipino woman for she displays excellency with elegance in everything that she does.

Happy International Women’s Day!
