Strengthening Innovation Through Partnership: TUP and the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Animal Industry

Officials and staff from the National Swine and Poultry Research and Development Center-BAI conducted a benchmark visit at the College of Engineering TUP Manila (Official) last March 10, 2026. They would like to explore a strategic research partnership to advance technology-driven solutions for the Philippine livestock and poultry sector.

This collaboration includes joint research initiatives such as the development of smart engineering technologies such as specialized smart incubation system designed to improve the efficiency of duck production through sensor systems, AI, and photometric analysis.

Through this partnership, TUP will contribute its expertise in:
• Engineering design and prototyping
• Sensors and instrumentation
• Artificial intelligence and data analytics
• Technology development for agriculture

Meanwhile, BAI will provide technical domain expertise, field validation opportunities, and support for technology deployment to benefit local farmers and the livestock industry.

This potential collaboration highlights TUP’s commitment to Farm-to-Fab innovation, where engineering research directly supports agriculture modernization, food security, and national development.

We look forward to strengthening this partnership to advance research, innovation, and technology transfer for the benefit of Filipino farmers and the broader agricultural sector.
