๐“๐ข๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž: Demographic Profile and Disaster Readiness in the Philippines: Inputs for Development Strategies

๐€๐›๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ: The article examines the relationship between the demographic profile and disaster readiness of residents in Barangay Poblacion, Guihulngan City, Philippines, to provide disaster development strategies for the Local Government Unit (LGU). Using a quantitative approach and the Hyogo Framework for Actionโ€”which emphasizes community participation, local knowledge, and resilience in disaster risk reductionโ€”the study collected data from 369 respondents through stratified random sampling from a pool of 4,869 individuals. Findings indicate that age, gender, and educational attainment do not show a significant relationship with disaster readiness, which contrasts with Bagarinao (2016) and Unciano (2022). However, income was strongly correlated with disaster readiness, highlighting localized income disparities. Targeted financial aid for low-income households should be prioritized in LGU disaster plans, alongside livelihood aid, subsidies, and community training.

๐€๐›๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ: Parental involvement is vital in mathematics learning, yet the realities parents face in this role are often overlooked. This study examined the lived experiences of parents supporting their childrenโ€™s mathematics education in public secondary schools in Naic, Cavite. Using a qualitative descriptive phenomenological design, 12 parents were interviewed, and data were analyzed through Caulfield's six-step thematic framework. Findings point to parents as digital tool users, home strategy providers, adaptive supporters, and visual approach implementers. Their realities included struggles with content complexity, module errors, generational gaps, retention challenges, and limited student motivation. Parents emphasized the importance of consistent practice, responsiveness to learning styles, and strong family support in navigating these demands. The study recommends parent training, accessible resources, and instructional alignment to strengthen collaboration, enhance parental efficacy, and improve mathematics outcomes in Philippine secondary education.

๐“๐ข๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž: Filipinoism, Feminism, and Dalagang Bukid

๐€๐›๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ: This study explores how Hermogenes Ilagan's Dalagang Bukid depicts Filipino culture and the role of women to achieve a more accurate representation. This investigates the plot structure, depiction of social class, and the portrayal of women in the 1919 compared to contemporary realities. It reveals the distinct cultural values such as the Filipino affinity for conflict and drama, as well as the importance of resilience and pride. The study also shows how the proud but flawed high-class and the humble, value-oriented low-class are distinguished by class. The portrayal of women in Dalagang Bukid reflects early 20th century ideals of femininity, family-centered, and aspirational, while modern women are characterized by independence and self-determination. The study contributes to the discourse on gender and cultural representation in Philippine literature and encourages further study on the evolving depiction of marginalized groups in traditional forms of drama.

๐“๐ข๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž: Systematic Review on the Application of Multimodal Learning Analytics to Personalize Students' Learning

๐€๐›๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ญ: In personalized learning (PL), learning processes are customized to account for student skills and preferences. However, as PL is generally based on a single data type, it cannot wholly represent students' learning behaviors and progress. Hence, it is crucial to leverage Multimodal Learning Analytics (MMLA) in PL to alleviate these restrictions. A systematic literature review was conducted to explore the use of MMLA in PL and investigate its benefits across several contexts and approaches. The underexplored aspects of MMLA in PL, like the gaps in topics, pedagogies, learning settings and environments, populations, and modalities studied, are addressed, and MMLAโ€™s potential to provide real-time tailored feedback and improve engagement is discussed.
