ICYMI: National University Highlights Legacy through Service Excellence Awards

National University celebrated the institution’s journey and achievements through the “Gintong Pamana, Bughaw na Karangalan” Service Excellence Awards 2026.

In line with its 126th founding anniversary, NU honored the individuals and departments behind the University’s success stories, recognizing years of dedicated service spanning 5 to 30 years, as well as research milestones, faculty expertise, administrative support, and embodiment of the University’s core values.

For the NU Outstanding Values (OVAL) Awards, Jay U. Sargento (NU Lipa) championed Patriotism, Nesiel O. Manalo (NU Lipa) reflected Compassion, Rishirl A. Cuario (NU Manila) demonstrated Resilience, and Cyrus Rj W. Robles (NU Manila) exemplified Innovation.

Campuses were likewise recognized for their licensure examination performance, CHED micro-credentials, stewardship and governance, human capital development, quality policy, and overall journey toward excellence.

Among the notable awards were the Campus of the Year titles. Under the respective categories, NU Clark was named Momentum Builders, NU Baliwag received the Growth Accelerators title, and NU Manila was recognized as Legacy Leaders.

Additionally, the NU Legacy Office opened another chapter in the institution’s history with the launch of the commemorative book, “The Nationalian: Legacies, Heroes, Warriors.”

With this year’s theme, “Shaping Leaders, Strengthening the Nation,” NU reaffirms its commitment to developing promising individuals and contributing to nation-building through excellence, service, and leadership.

Former National University Men’s Volleyball Team’s (NU MVT) Bryan Bagunas was the Fans’ Choice Men’s Volleyball Player in the inaugural Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Gala Night 2026.

Capturing the fans in Asia, Bulldogs’ Bagunas garnered a total of 36,528 votes through a public online voting for the award to recognize his influence in the continental volleyball scene.

In his time at NU, he finished Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management by 2019, while serving as a key player of NU MVT with multiple Most Valuable Player (MVP), Best Server, and Best Outside Spiker awards during UAAP Seasons 77-81.

ICYMI: Alas Pilipinas Obtains Historic 6th SEA V.Cup Silver

Alas Pilipinas Women bagged the 6th SEA V.Cup 2026 Leg 2 silver medal for the Philippines, their first time and highest rank in the league.

Among the national team representatives, National University Women’s Volleyball Team’s (NU WVT) former and current players carried the Gold and Blue pride to the international stage.

Lady Bulldogs’ Bella Belen, Alyssa Solomon, Jen Nierva, Vange Alinsug and Celine Marsh played for the flag and achieved this historic campaign. Additionally, Solomon was recognized individually as the Best Opposite Hitter.
