JLES was in festive mood as the whole community celebrates the annual Christmas Cantata. This year highlights, for the first time, the nativity tableau performed by selected teachers and students. The nativity scene reminds us that christmas comes from our humble hearts.

Each grade level graced the Amadome with their christmas carols in the variety of Filipino chriatmas songs Students sang their heart out joyfully along with simple dance steps, wearing colorful head dresses.

Followed was the gift-giving to our indigent pupils that emphasize generosity during this time of the year.

Awarding of presentations and christmas-themed corridors ended the celebration where Grade 6 was hailed Overall Champion in both categories.

Truly, christmas spirit is felt in JLES, not just during christmas season but everyday.

Advance Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from JLES!!!

Congratulations to our Staffer JOHN FRANCIS C. CABORNAY for taking the challenge as Courtside Reporter in the Archery Game Palarong Maynila last November 14 and 15 at the JLES Amadome.

The collaboration of Journalism and MAPEH-Sports has given campus journalists the opportunity to not just witness live sports action but the training in writing sports news as well. This experience will definitely help in the development of their writing and broadcasting skills.

Good job, John Francis! This is just the beginning of your campus journalism journey.

As reported around 8:37 this morning, 88 families, with a total of 406 individuals, evacuated from Brgy 671, 672, 673, and 674 due to the sudden surge of river water from Estero de Paco last night brought by high tide and effects of super typhoon Uwan.

Streets nearby Estero de Paco, experienced almost knee-deep dark-colored flood from the river late last night. Barangay Officials urged affected residents to evacuate immediately to avoid worse risk situation.

JLES, as one of the evacuation centers in District V, humbly accomodated these families affected by flood and were helped access school open and safe spaces.

Headed by the School Principal, Mrs. Marilou S. Calma and members of the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (SDRRMC), and respective Barangay Officials, the evacuees were given utmost care and response.

Fire trucks from Paco Fire Station and DPS initiated flushing inside JLES and areas around to flush thick mud left by the flood.

Meanwhile, members of the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (MDRRM)Office have also inspected the situation of the river and monitored further places that need urgent assistance.

As of the latest update, most of the families already went back in their respective homes. There was no casualty or untoward incident reported as of this writing.

In light of the increasing number of cases of flu and flu-like illnesses and the series of earthquakes across the country, DepEd NCR has suspended Face-to-Face classes on October 13 and 14 encouraging public schools to shift to Alternative Delivery Mode of Learning or ADM.

These days are committed to ensuring school facilities preparedness and planning methods for the possibilities of occurence of natural calamities/disasters. It is also an opportunity for cleaning activities and disinfection of the school premises.

JLES has always been vigilant and aggressive in ensuring safety among our learners and personnel. In this regard, the school administration, through the initiative of our School Head, Mrs. Marilou S. Calma, conducted an online meeting with the School Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee (SDRRM) which includes committee members, Master Teachers, Faculty Club Officers, Grade Chairman, SPTA Officers. It has been discussed in the meeting the plan of action in case something tragic might happen. These information will then be discussed with the rest of the Faculty members, Non-teaching personnel, pupils and stakeholders. Dr. Maricel A. Basa, PSDS, was also part of the consultation phase.

Moreover, the school also prepared an evacuation plan, courtesy of Mr. Doody R. Garlan MT 1, which will also be discussed and presented to the body as soon as face-to-face classes have resumed. In addition, Mrs. Calma said that this plan will be printed in tarpaulin and posted outside the school for easier public notice.

While everyone is doing the asynchronous lessons and activities, take time to prepare with family for any possible untoward events. Have your GO BAGS ready with basic necessities such as medicine, food good for days, pair of clothes, emergency lights, whistle, potable water and important documents.

Discuss within your family your evacuation plans and practice earthquake drills at home or in any places wherever possible. Be vigilant and alert at all times. Lastly, stay indoors if possible to avoid any untoward incidents.

On the other hand, the moment you experience flu-like symptoms, go to your healthcare provider immediately for proper diagnosis and medical assistance. Wear face mask, wash your hands regularly, practice good hygiene, and take vitamins and supplements to help boost your immune system.

These natural disasters and calamities are truly inevitable but we can lessen casualties and future damages if we come prepared. Follow our government guidelines on disaster preparedness and make yourselves informed from time to time. Above all, put God in the center of everything and believe that He will never forsake us especially in trying times.

JLES was the happiest place on earth as disney-themed presentations capped the week-long celebration of 101st Founding Anniversary.

SNED opened the program with their version of the movie Toy Story which led everyone into reminiscing childhood memories of toys.

Next was the Kindergarten in their Aloha-inspired Lilo and Stitch where all girls were dressed in their grass skirts and boys in their island getup.

A whole new world experience was brought to life by the Grade 1 pupils as they delivered their version of the movie Alladin. Pretty little girls lighted up the stage in their Jasmine wear while the young boys dazzled in their Alladin costume.

We relive the feeling of forestry in the all-star cast Snow White-inspired presentation from the Grade 2. Spotted with the main characters, Snow White, Seven Dwarfs and the Evil Stepmother, they showed all efforts digging and hi-ho along the way.

JLES community made it's way to Moana from Grade 3 on her travel boat paddling in a sea of waves. Maui may not be in the scene but he was definitely in everyone's heart.

The Grade 4 pupils led us into diving under the sea with their Little Mermaid version. We saw Ariel and her sea creature friends swaying on stage as bubbles came around to welcome the prince charming.

This was the Dia de los Mu***os or Day of the Dead in Grade 5 as they remember the well-known movie Coco. Dancers seemed to rise from the dead into the tune of fiesta vibe of Mexican culture. Present in the feast were the main characters Miguel, Little Mama Coco, Mama Imelda and Papa Hector.

Last but not the least, was a freezing performance of Grade 6 in their Frozen-themed presentation. Audience were left in amaze as Elsa released her power all around the Amadome.

Intermission numbers were also delivered in between presentations and also as the judges tabulated their results.

Right after was the awarding of winners in the Best in Disney-Themed Corridor Decoration, wherein the Grade 6 family was hailed at Champion, receiving a plaque and cash prize.

Grade 6 was also declared as Champion in the Disney-Themed Presentation, receiving a trophy and cash prize.

This year's week-long celebration may have ended but the love and camaraderie will continue in every Lukbanian's heart. Definitely, JLES will continue to provide excellence in education and to prove its legacy in the next century.

JLES would like to express our deep gratitude to all the pupils, teachers, parents and stakeholders, non-teaching personnel and school maintenance, who have suppported every activity this week. Special mention to the SPTA, Faculty Club, School Administration, our dear PSDS Dr. Maricel Amponin - Basa and most of all, our very supportive and very energetic Principal. Mrs. Marilou Jeng Samson Calma, in making these events a success. Truly, teamwork makes the dreams work.

Happy 101st Founding Anniversary, JLES! See you next year!!!

One of the most enjoyable days in school is the day out of the classroom.

Lukbanians enjoyed variety of booths installed by each grade level on Day 3 of the week-long celebration of 101st Founding Anniversary.

Food booths that serve different kind of meals filled the cooridors and school ground. Videoke hubs in some classrooms were also seen jam-packed by musically-talented pupils. Cinema rooms that present different movie genres were also caught the pupils' attention.

The Journalism Class setup a Dedication Booth that let everyone compose a dedication or letter which will be delivered right in the recipients' classroom.

Meanwhile, Yui P. Collado and Francis Nathaniel D. Garlan were hailed as Mr. And Ms. Foundation Day 2025, both from Grade 6 Jose Rizal, which was hosted by grade 6 level.

Parents and guardians were also spotted supporting different booths while accompanying their children to and fro.

Truly, this day is generally a free day for all. There is no untoward incident reported as of this writing, which proves that safety of all, especially the learners, is the top priority.

Nothing beats a school that has passionate and competent teachers worth giving of recognition.

Day 2 is the JLES celebration of Teachers' Day. With all might and loud drums, teachers were welcomed by the members of the BSP headed by Sir Doody R. Garlan. Each teacher were given breakfast set of bread and coffee and a chance of photo booth experience to start the wonderful day with big smiles.

During the program, teachers from each grade level were all in the mood for dancing and graced the stage with their dance moves in the variety of 80s music. Every after performance, they were all given tokens of appreciation prepared by the SPTA and School Administration.

Teachers gathered at the social hall for a sumptuous lunch courtesy of the canteen fund. Videoke sessions and parlor games are also part of the celebration that made the day more awesome.

To all the teachers who believe in the talents and skills of the learners, everyday is a celebration for all your dedication and hardwork. ๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Teachers' Day, mga Gurong Lukban!!!
