Dear IPRS, Mary and I are now in the States, where we are teaching part-time at a small college and working in local churches. We do not, as of yet, positions. We miss you all and hope you are well and happy. Thanks for all your kindness. If you need anything, please let me know. Your grades have been sent to Richard Ronquillo and Malou.
Our mothers are suffering from the weight of old age, they are happy to have us home, caring for them.
Love to all of you on this Valentines Day.
In Christ,
Prof. Paul D. Matheny

We celebrated the gift of Oscar Suarez' library well. Many distinguished guests came and participated. There was a rich worship and dedication service. Come take a look at the many wonderful books Oscar and his family gave us to us. Thanks to all who came and made the event so memorable. Our love goes out to Oscar and his family for their support.

There will be a celebration in the library of IPRS during the first week of September (perhaps Wednesday). We will be officially receiving the gift of Oscar Suarez' theological library. It will be a festive occasion and a time to remember all that Oscar did for IPRS. See you there. Paul Matheny

Dear Friends,
The husband of Ruth Panganiban Billena is in PGH ICU. He fell and is in a coma that has lasted more than 2 weeks. Let us keep them both and their family in our prayers. I will be visiting him soon. Paul

It is with great sadness that Prof. Dr. Paul D. Matheny and Prof. Dr. Mary C. Nebelsick will be returning to the USA at the end of this semester. The financial crisis of the Presbyterian Church has taken another victim.

Classes and enrollment are beginning. Be sure to discuss you schedule with you coordinator and adviser. The final schedule will be posted soon. See you, Prof. Dr. Paul Matheny

Dear Friends,
I recently returned to the Philippines and will soon begin my teaching at PCU. Mary has remained in the USA. Her mother fell and broke her hip and wrist and needs Mary. She had surgery, along with rehab work. She is improving and will soon return home. Mary will join me soon.

We are so happy to be back. Our year in the US visiting churches was great. I love telling your story and sharing the events of our ministry here. The congregations we visited enjoyed hearing about you and all that you are doing in Christ.

We are staying at our home on the UTS campus. We love our place, surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. I look forward to seeing you all in the coming months.

The financial crisis has put all the work of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in jeopardy. We will be here, at least until December. Keep us in your prayers as we await news about the future.

I had a wonderfully supportive meeting with Bishop Reuel Marigza, who has been very helping in guiding our work in the coming months. The graduate program of PCU has a great future.

Warmest regards,
Paul Matheny
