On the birth of our Father and Founder, St. John Baptist de La Salle, we remember a life shaped not by grand design but by a series of quiet “yes,” guided by a faith in something greater than ourselves.

What began as quiet responses became a lifelong mission, one step leading to another, until a vision for education took root, taught minds, touched hearts, and transformed countless lives in over 80 countries.

May we, too, learn to trust the gentle ways we are led, where purpose unfolds not all at once, but in time.

Veneration of the Relic of St. John Baptist de Lasalle follows after the Mass.

April 7 marks the anniversary of the death of St. John Baptist de La Salle, founder of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools. He died on Good Friday in 1719 leaving behind 23 communities of educators and 200 Brothers continuing his mission of providing a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor.

Today, Lasallian education continues to transform the lives of young people around the globe with approximately 5,000 Brothers and 80,000 partners serving nearly 900,000 students in about 1,000 educational ministries in 80 countries.

On this Easter season, we celebrate new life. Christ destroyed sin and rose again so that we may live.

𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁:
Where do I see signs of new life and what do they ask of me?

On this Black Saturday, we await the fulfillment of the promise of the cross. Christ bore our sins, so that we might turn away from them and live in God's love.

𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁:
What in my life am I being called to turn away from, so that I can live more fully in God's love?
