📣 CPD-Accredited Seminar-Workshop "Theory and Practice: Use of LC-MS and GC-MS in Toxicology" – Batch 1 Day 2 Highlights
The UST Department of Medical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the UST Faculty of Pharmacy Alumni Association and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., and RainPhil, Inc., successfully concluded Day 2 of the CPD-accredited seminar-workshop, “Theory and Practice: Use of LC-MS and GC-MS in Toxicology” on May 9, 2025, at RainPhil Inc., Makati City.
The second day featured a comprehensive and thought-provoking lecture on the Toxicology of Drugs of Abuse delivered by our distinguished speaker, Dr. Maria Ruth B. Pineda-Cortel, RMT, MSMT, PhD. Her session explored toxicological mechanisms, drugs of abuse, and the Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) in Toxicology
In the afternoon, participants engaged in a hands-on workshop on the use of GC-MS in the detection of alcohol, equipping them with practical skills and technical knowledge crucial in toxicological diagnostics.
We express our sincere appreciation to Dr. Pineda-Cortel for her outstanding contribution and to RainPhil, Inc., for providing an excellent training environment and continued support for this initiative.
