Held earlier today at UE Caloocan Campus, the College of Computer Studies and Systems (CCSS) proudly clinched 2nd Place in the Quiz Bee Category and secured 3rd Place Overall, tying with the College of Education in this year’s Tagisan ng Talino!

Representing CCSS in the Quiz Bee Competition were:
John Adrian Cruz, Amir Jo-Hanz Lopez, and Zjaun Gabriel Regalado. They showcased their knowledge in Mathematics, Science and Technology, and General Information and Current Events, all delivered in Filipino, the official medium of the competition.

In the Extemporaneous Speech Competition, Greigh Kyle Navarro represented CCSS with eloquence and confidence, also using the Filipino language.

These outstanding students were guided by their dedicated coaches namely Prof. Melie Jim Sarmiento and Prof. Marc Rodin C. Ligas.

This year’s event was made even more exciting with the participation of the Basic Education Departments from both UE Manila and UE Caloocan campuses, fostering unity and friendly competition across levels.

Earlier today, September 30, 2025, the UE CCSS Administrators and Faculty members proudly joined the entire UE community at the University Convocation held at the UE Manila Conference Hall in celebration of the University of the East’s 79th Foundation Anniversary!

Organized by UE’s Graduate School, College of Law, and College of Dentistry, this meaningful event featured keynote speaker Dr. Dina S. Ocampo, Professor from UP Diliman’s College of Education, who inspired us with her talk on “Educating Minds, Hands and Hearts of Filipino Youth.”

As we continue to shape future innovators and tech-leaders, we are reminded of the importance of holistic education in empowering the Filipino youth.

Adding a heartfelt touch to the celebration, Mr. Edgar G. Romero II, a third-year BS in Information Technology student and proud member of the UE Chorale, serenaded the awardees with his soulful renditions of 𝘐 𝘉𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘐 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘍𝘭𝘺 and 𝘉𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘬𝘢.

Together with their fellow awardees from CAS, CBA, CDENT, CENG’G, and CEDUC, they represent the brilliance, dedication, and future of UE. Here's to your hard work, passion, and pursuit of excellence!

Rolling to Glory: CCSS Bowling Team Strikes 3rd Runner-Up!

Congratulations to our amazing CCSS Bowling Team for clinching 3rd Runner-Up at the UE Bowling Tournament hosted by the UE Alumni Association, Inc., (UEAAI) in celebration of the 79th UE Foundation Anniversary!

Out of 20 competitive teams, our bowlers namely
Associate Dean Arne R. Bana, Prof. Marivic M. Gatus, Prof. Jovy M. Afable, Prof. Marc Rodin C. Ligas, Prof. Edmon L. Torres, and Prof. Mark Anthony D. Uy powered through the lanes, made it to the Top 8 Semi-Finals, and proudly secured a spot in the Top 6 Finals, finishing as 3rd Runner-Up!

Kudos, CCSS Bowlers! Your teamwork, focus, and fighting spirit truly made us proud. Here's to more strikes, spares, and successes ahead!

LOOK | The Top 10 Most Outstanding Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) of the University of the East (UE)-Manila for the academic year 2024-2025 were announced by the Student Affairs Office (SAO) today, June 30, at the SFC Briefing Room.

Securing the first place is College of Dentistry (CDent)-based RSO Filipino-Chinese Dental Students Organization.

Four out of the ten places in the ranking were secured by CDent-based RSOs.

The certificates of appreciation and recognition for the awardees were given by SAO Director Edilina Baldoza.
