Nature is healing, but it can cause grief.
Nature builds and grows and blooms, but it can also break.

The strong twister-like winds toppled our largest Supa tree in the forest. Called the Wishing tree by our Treeschoolers, it provided shade, hugs, and a safe resting space. A gathering space where the children read, told, and created stories, shared snacks, and explored and learned about the world around them.

The sitting stones under the tree arranged in a circle where community was made and learning rooted remain unmoved and will one day welcome the Treeschoolers again soon. While we are grateful that the school was spared, that no one was hurt, and that the damage to the property can be repaired, we mourn the loss of our gentle giant.

The Supa tree kept us company and gave us so much during all the days spent in the forest and will still provide so much even after its life. That’s how selfless trees are- they simply give and give and give.

One fallen tree does not mean our forest is lost. It simply means we have space for more growth and possibilities.
