Today we face a multitude of crises, with budget cuts gnawing at our educational foundation and never-ending tuition fee increases. We demand nothing less than for every youth to attain their right to free quality education along with our denocratic rights, yet our aspirations for a bright future are met with intensified repression in the form of the Anti-Terror Law and the imposition of Mandatory ROTC.
Amidst a sea of crises: soaring cost of living, imperialist interference, and the infiltration of fascism within our learning institutions β we refuse to be silenced. Together, through united, collective action, we carry our struggle beyond the confines of our classrooms and cry out: NEVER FORGET! REJECT MARCOS-DUTERTE!
We, as the Filipino people, will build our future with our own hands. We march together to commemorate the 51st Martial Law Anniversary and to express our militancy in the face of crises.
In the heart of Manilaβs urban jungle, the youth and students of Taft Avenue will join together on September 21, riding the wave of militant student power, from De La Salle University, University of the Philippines - Manila, Philippine Christian University, Philippine Women's University, Philippine Normal University, and Technological University of the Philippines all the way to Liwasang Bonifacio and Mendiola.

Inaanyayahan ang mga mag-aaral, g**o, at mga kawani ng PCU Manila na magsuot ng kulay itim at makibahagi sa Black Day Shirt Protest sa darating na ika-51 anibersaryo ng Martial Law sa Setyembre 21. Tanda ng ating paggunita at pakikiisa sa mga biktima ng karahasan at kawalan ng hustisya ng rehimeng Marcos, noon at ngayon.
Tayo rin ay makiisa sa gaganaping DALUYONG: Unity Walk Against Marcos Tyranny and Facism, September 21, Thursday sa ika-51 komemorasyon ng Martial Law. Tayo ay magkita-kita sa UP Manila PGH Oblation Plaza, 12:30 PM at Liwasang Bonifacio, 2:30 PM.

The Singalong Operators and Drivers Association (SODA) is an organization containing 80 jeepney drivers whose line of transportation is from Zobel Roxas to Paco Market, which means that they mostly cater to students at Taft, including Philippine Christian University.
In the wake of the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., jeepney drivers will conduct a transport strike nationwide from July 24-26, 2023 to stand for their rights regarding the PUV Modernization Program that could potentially make thousands of drivers and operators to lose their source of income.
Any amount will do, as your help will be deeply appreciated. The donation drive will continue until July 30, 2023.

Palakasin ang ating nagkakaisang tinig! Ating ipanawagan sa darating na Mayo Uno!
Sa ilalim ng rehimeng Marcos-Duterte, nananatiling lugmok ang kalagayan ng mga manggagawa dahil sa kabila ng tuloy tuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin, hindi sumasapat sa pang araw-araw na gastusin ang sweldo ng mga manggagawa. Sa kabila ng mataas na tubo ng mga kapitalista at mataas na labor productivity, sa gitna ng lumalalang krisis, nananatiling nakapako sa β±570 ang sahod ng mga manggagawa kung kaya't higit na makatwiran ang ating panawagan para sa dagdag-sahod.
Sumama at makiisa sa Mayo Uno at makiisa sa laban ng mga manggagawa para sa nakabubuhay na sahod, kasiguruhan sa trabaho at karapatan!

TINGNAN: Nagsagawa ang Rise for Education-PCU ng isang talakayan kasama si Kej Andres, ang pambansang tagapagsalita ng Student Christian Movement of the Philippines - SCMP, hinggil sa Neoliberalismo sa edukasyon. Tinalakay dito ang kalagayang sitwasyon ng sistema ng edukasyon sa bansa at ano ang rason bakit ng ba hindi natin tunay na natatamasa ang ating karapatan sa edukasyon.

As promised, here is the memorandum that the NSTP Office pledged, to assert that students' classes will remain as CWTS and not ROTC as indicated in their COR. We are encouraging the students who were recently affected by the sudden switch to ROTC from CWTS to save this memo for future references. Thank you!

UPDATE ON THE STUDENTS CONCERN REGARDING MANDATORY ROTC
Today, a successful dialogue was done through the Office of the President regarding the concerns of CASSWE students regarding the forced imposition of ROTC on their CWTS classes. Present at the meeting were the representative of the President, the Vice President for Academics, the Director of Student Services Office, the Head of NSTP Department, the Dean of CASSWE, the OIC of the Department of Social Sciences, the Department Head of the Social Work, the President and Vice President of the USG, and the student representatives of the classes affected by the concern.
The students were guaranteed and assured that ROTC remains voluntary, and that their CWTS class will prevail as what is indicated in their registration cards. The Head of NSTP Department was instructed to release a memo within the day that instructs that all current CWTS classes will remain as it is and that no classes will be switched to ROTC nor military science without due consent from the students.
This is an outcome that we are all praying for, and today it finally happened. The University Student Government will always stand for the students' rights and welfare, as part of the oath we took office. However, none would be possible without the collective efforts of the students who stood up for themselves at the beginning. This one's for you!
