“The PLM Speech and Debate Society (PLM SPADES), a non-academic, university-wide students’ organization and the official Debate and Public Speaking Organization of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), firmly reaffirms its commitment to non-partisan, respectful, responsible and principled discourse, in relation to student elections.

As an organization cultivating critical thinking, reasoned argumentation, and the respectful exchange of ideas, PLM SPADES maintains a position of neutrality and does not endorse, support, or campaign for any candidate or political party within the electoral process.

The organization acknowledges that its members may run for positions in the College Student Council (CSC) and the Supreme Student Council (SSC). But while the organization respects the rights of its members to participate in democratic processes, such involvement is undertaken in the members' personal capacity and does not mean endorsement or support of SPADES as a student organization.

SPADES remains committed to its mission of providing a fair, inclusive, and intellectually grounded space where ideas are evaluated on their merit, independent of political affiliation.

This document sets the standards for how our elections will be conducted, ensuring that the process remains fair, orderly, and transparent for both candidates and voters. It provides the structure that allows our community to engage in a system that values accountability and equal participation.

We encourage every student to take time to read and understand the IRR. Being informed is not optional. It is essential to meaningful participation. A credible election depends not only on those who run, but also on those who choose to stay aware, critical, and involved.

Our role as students goes beyond casting votes. It includes understanding the systems we take part in and holding them to the standards we expect.

As we celebrate Easter Sunday, we rejoice in the fulfillment of God’s greatest promise: the Resurrection of Christ. This day gently reminds us that no darkness is ever final when faith remains. Just as Christ rose in glory, we are also called to rise from our own moments of doubt, pain, and weakness.

May the joy of the Resurrection renew our hearts and guide us to live in hope, love, and faith each day.

As we observe Black Saturday, we are called to quietly reflect and solemnly wait. It is a day that sits in stillness, remembering the moment after Christ’s sacrifice, when hope seemed far away from the tomb.

But even in that silence and stillness, we are reminded that God is never absent, even when we cannot see or feel His presence. This sacred pause teaches us to trust more deeply, wait with faith, and believe in His perfect timing.

May we hold on firmly to hope, knowing that darkness is never the end of the story.
