MEET OUR ADVISER!
Dr. Ma. Lorella C. Arabit-Zapatos earned a degree in Bachelor in Secondary Education, with specialization in Social Sciences at the Philippine Normal University (PNU). She finished her Masters in Philippine Studies major in Society and Culture at the Asian Center, University of the Philippines in Diliman Quezon City. At the same university, she studied Philippine Studies under the Tri-college program where she majored in Cultural Studies and Philippine Art. She is also an alumni of the 14th Asia Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding in Seoul South Korea. She received a degree in Doctor of Philosophy in Social Studies Education at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia at Bandung Indonesia in 2019. Her professional experience includes being a faculty member of the University of Rizal System in Binangonan Campus, (2001-2009) a part time faculty member of the College of Arts at the Polytechnic University of Manila in Sta Mesa Manila, (2009-2012) and currently a member of the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Philippine Normal University Manila. (2012-present) She is now the head of the PNU-FBeSS Center for Transformative Education. She advocates for Human Rights, Peace and Indigenous Education and Education for Sustainable Development. She is also a member of Human Rights Education Committee of Amnesty International –Philippines.
Her research interests includes, Religion and Popular Devotions, Indigenous Education in the Philippines, Inclusive Education, Global South Sustainable Development and Sustainability Reporting.
