Congratulations to David Ching (BS Chemistry minor in Business Studies) and Angela Jane Faijilan (BS Chemistry) for successfully defending their thesis entitled "In Vitro Sun Protection Factor and Antioxidant Properties of Terminalia microcarpa Decne. Ethanolic Leaf Extract."

Their study is a preliminary investigation of how an underutilized plant like Terminalia microcarpa Decne., locally known as kalumpit, can be used as a photoprotective agent in sunscreens.

Their research, entitled “Evaluating the Visible-Light Photocatalytic Activity of g-C₃N₄/SnS₂ Composites for Rhodamine B Degradation and Waste Cooking Oil Transesterification,” investigates the dual functionality of a visible-light-driven photocatalyst. The study explores its application in degrading Rhodamine B, an organic dye pollutant in water, and facilitating the transesterification of waste cooking oil for biodiesel production.
