𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗨𝗣 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 (𝗣𝗔𝗔𝗧𝗛) successfully held a three-day seminar series titled “𝙋𝘼𝘼𝙏𝙃 𝙩𝙤 𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙃𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮” for the students of Master of Science in International Tourism and Hospitality Management (MSITHM) program on October 1–3, 2025, at PUP Hasmin Building, Sta. Mesa, Manila.

The activity aimed to strengthen the research capabilities of MSITHM students by providing deeper insights into the methods of research and processes of academic publication.

The series began with 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐦, who shared his expertise on “𝙋𝙪𝙗𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙀𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 (𝙀𝘾𝙍𝙨).” His session provided participants with valuable international perspectives on scholarly writing and publishing in the tourism discipline.

On Day 2, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐀 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐳𝐚 shared his expertise and engaged the participants with several examples on the difference between 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙛𝙤𝙘𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙣 𝙫𝙖𝙧𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙤𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝.

The seminar concluded with 𝐃𝐫. 𝐃𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥 on Day 3, who delivered a session on innovative research practices in tourism and hospitality, different research designs in 𝙌𝙪𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 (𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙪𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨) 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙈𝙎𝙄𝙏𝙃𝙈 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨.

Throughout the three days, participants engaged in meaningful discussions and reflected on how these insights could contribute to advancing tourism and hospitality research in the local and global contexts.

The PAATH to Publication Seminar Series underscored the Graduate School’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and research integrity among its students—ensuring that future scholars in tourism and hospitality remain grounded, capable, and globally competitive.

In celebration of World Tourism Month, the PUP MSITHM and PAATH Officers participated in the TFGI Brownbag Session on Tourism hosted by the AIM - Dr. Andrew L. Tan Center for Tourism in partnership with the Tech For Good Institute today, September 24, 2025.

With the theme “How do we transform tourism’s workforce for the digital age?”, the session highlighted the Center’s latest research on Digitalisation in Tourism—a topic that is highly relevant in today’s fast-changing landscape. It emphasized strategies to build a future-ready workforce through technology, skills development, and industry collaboration.

As graduate scholars and future leaders in tourism and hospitality, we are grateful for the opportunity to engage in this dialogue and gain insights that will shape our role in advancing a resilient and innovative tourism industry. 🌐
