This beautiful morning of April 28, 2025, the TUP Manila Alumni Association Inc. unveilled its official colors during the University Flag Raising ceremony. The University President Dr. Reynaldo P. Ramos and Alumni Regent Prof. Benjie Esman̈a led the unveiling with Alumni Director Dr. Arjun Ansay and the Association officers. The colors was conceptualized by Ms. Irish Queenie Melitante, the Alumni Secretary.

𝗡𝗔𝗣𝗖 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗨𝗣 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗻𝗮𝘁’𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) Secretary Lope Santos III encouraged nearly 900 graduates to channel their skills toward advancing national industrialization during the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) 119th Commencement Exercises at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City, August 28.

Secretary Santos talked about the importance of education and its role in forming the foundations of a solid professional life, especially for the new graduates. He also emphasized that each graduate is called to a greater purpose of serving the country and improving the lives of Filipinos.

“With the education and degree you earned, you are now more equipped to unlock your unlimited potential and reach novel breakthroughs, unparalleled and groundbreaking with the ability to profoundly uplift the lives of everyone in the country,” Secretary Santos said.

Secretary Santos also discussed how the TUP, as a center of excellence, shapes its graduates to be able to contribute to improving industrialization in the Philippines, particularly in the modernization of agriculture and industries. He also gave a brief background regarding his work as NAPC Lead Convenor which involves alleviating the poverty situation in the Philippines and helping the poor attain their fundamental rights. According to the Secretary, the graduates can help in these areas to aid the administration in its pursuit in attaining the single-digit poverty rates by 2028.

Secretary Santos is an alumnus of the TUP and finished his degree of Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education in 1986. He was also a grantee of the Presidential Scholarship Program of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
